Simplistic? Yes. Easy to learn controls? Yes. Hard game to figure out? No. Feels like other games? Sure.

Very simple beat the crap out of stuff, go from one end of the map to the other, short little story, unlock outfits, dress up the heroine, (Or undress) One man made, game.

For one guy doing nearly all the work, I am actually impressed, the smoothness of the combat, while simple, is pretty damned amazing. Soundtrack is very JRPG, which I dig. Kind of reminds me of a cross of Godhand and Once Upon a Time.
Except Cinderalla looks awesome and wrecks hard. Good way to kill some time and not get bored.

I liked the game, but when you compare its pros and cons, it's not that bright and shiny, you would get a rather mixed result.
What I didn't expect is that I would play an erotic hack'n'slash game not for the nudes and not for the gameplay, but actually for the...story! It has nothing special on that front, but I found it quite charming. It's like fairy tales and fantasy were mixed with modern things like cyborgs and lasers, there are jokes here and there (there's even a Snow White dancing and singing like Hatsune Miku). The game doesn't take itself seriously at all and some lines don't fit the character, but the story is still told in an acceptable, good way and I also didn't find any mistakes or typos. Which is also a plus, considering the game wasn't made by a Native speaker and there are many Steam hentai games available which use Google Translate translations, which is not the case here. I also really like the character art.

The game seems to be heavily influenced by Drakengard series and there's the same progression system (here you end up in the Hub area after each mission and can either change your outfit, beat a challenge or progress through the story further). The fighting system is fluid and works nicely, but it's also very primitive. There are two buttons for attacks (light and heavy) and there are NO combos to make with them. However, you can stun enemies by blocking their attacks at the right moment and you also have a Special attack, for which you gather energy beating the enemies.

The game runs at 60+ FPS, there were no freezes, no crashes, no bugs. I've encountered only one level design bug, there's a spot where you can see the "other" side of the location.

Now, to the cons. The level design is really, really poor. The levels are just large opean areas with nothing special on them, you proceed further collecting coins, then enemies spawn around you and get you into a magic ring and the ring won't disappear until you beat them all. You beat them, proceed further, meet a boss in the end, which have about the same attacks and always the same pattern (except the last ones) and can be quickly beaten with a Special attack. And it's the same thing for the whole game ~~ which is not very long ~~ but it still can get very old pretty quick. I also wouldn't say that the game was challenging anyhow on Normal, except the Robert boss or the episode when you need to defeat Snow White being one hit away from dying.

Sound mixing is also poor, some sounds are extremely silent (coin collecting), while other sounds are extremely loud (beating enemies, the sound of victory after completing the level). There is also no sound for the footsteps.
Music is nice, but it's all coming from the Unity store (except the Snow White song, of course). Same goes for the many models and sounds. Which is not a bad thing if used nicely, but must be mentioned.

The price seems to be too high for me, but there are also many Challenges and Hard mode.
As for the 18+ patch, it only adds only a couple of naked outfits (which will show only t/its), didn't encounter any sex during the gameplay or in the story, so the game is quite dissapointing on that front. There is, however, a room with some BDSM machines (which are being used by bosses while you fight them), but it's still a very light stuff.

I have played to 100% completion (main story, challenges, unlockables, etc.) It was fun enough for me to spend 8-9 hours completing and unlocking everything but I can't recommend it for everyone. First of all, the price is pretty steep considering how quickly you can blast through the main story. (If you watch all the cutscenes and read all of the dialogue, you can finish the 14 chapters well under 2 hrs.) The combat is too shallow and the levels aren't very challenging at all.

I didn't start to run into any difficulty until after I had beat the story on normal & hard, and then got really far up on the challenges list. This was when I was about 75% complete with everything. Then the game very quickly turns into a grind fest where you have to level up your character to unlock the next challenge. By this point, your character becomes so powerful that the game very quickly becomes too easy again, and you're just grinding to level up and unlock the rest of the challenges so you can steam roll through them.

There isn't going to be much motivation for most people to unlock everything, or to even keep playing after finishing the main story. For those who are wondering about the optional R-18 patch that has to be downloaded separately, there's really not much there. There are some topless costumes and there is a bonus room where you can watch your character get put into some compromising positions with traps and enemies (nothing more explicit than dry humping).

If I could give it a sideways thumb I would, but I can't honestly give it a straight thumbs up. I would only recommend it if you see it go on sale for five bucks, or if you're a completionist who likes to unlock things. What would have made it more worthwhile is if there more R-18 content to experience after beating everything, but you really don't get rewarded much in terms of unlockables.

Well, if you appreciate BDSM you will definitely like it XD

This game was a big surprise for me, I didn't expect it to be so good. Gameplay is really nice, story is funny and nice, graphics are good and in general the game is very entertaining, Recommended!

Story
The story is not too deep, just as you expect from a game like this. That’s no problem, it is ok and also funny to read.

Gameplay
Combat is very simple: You have to attack buttons, jump and special attack. Shoulder buttons are block and dodge. The game plays very well with a controller. Rebinding is no problem.
Not much learning of combos needed – repeating the same view buttons again and again is ok. All you need to watch out for is to dodge/block when necessary.

Looks
As you might have already seen from the steam store screenshots, the game looks very nice and is visualized in an appealing way. I like that you can adjust Cinderella’s breast size.

Achievements
Achievements seem doable but very grindy. I haven’t played through all, so I canno tell too much about the combo achievements, although I think they are quite doable with the help of the special attack.

Conclusion
While Cinderella Escape 2 Revenge seems pretty cool at first, I got also bored pretty fast. The game looks nice and I love the possibility to adjust the character’s breast size.
Unfortunately this game gives me the feeling of doing the same thing again and again... and again. The enemies look a bit different but all in all there is not much diversity.
The „adult“ patch needs to be downloaded from the creator’s patreon site, although I don’t think it’s really worth it. There is no real adult content – just a few additional outfits which reveal the protagonist’s breasts. That’s it.
If you want to play a hack and slash game, try one that’s less repetitive.
If you want to play a hentai/porn action game, try one that’s more revealing and/or has actual adult scenes in it.
For me, this game is a mix with too less from both.
The first few levels were fun, but it was too much of the same without any feeling of achievement/reward.

!!! Cinderella Escape 2 is not a puzzle platformer like the first one was !!!

The developer, only kept the story from the first game. else it is a brawler - a good one at it. Granted, the gameplay feels a little "stiff" now an then (no pun intended) and could be a little smoother to my taste but the game keeps you motivated and is not too grindy. I've taken a liking to it, but I can understand people that don't like the game. It certainly is way less smoothened out as other AAA Brawlers, but then none of the other brawlers are developed by just one person. That been said, you definetly can tell, these are mmd models ported to unity engine, if you have some experience with either of these programs, which by itself is not a bad thing but definetly sticks out.

Buy if:

-You like Brawlers and look for a game to play now and then
-You like the MMD art style
-You liked the first part, and don't have a problem fighting instead of puzzeling.
-You wanna experience a Cinderella story that is somewhat different, from what Disney wants to sell.

Don't buy if:

-You hate brawlers and are looking for a puzzlegame
-You despise any of the points above

First i must say, that i was really sad to hear that the Developer of the First Game run out of Money and quit the Servies for the last Game and so i think that never anything new will see the Light of Day. But now its there. A Brandnew Part and i love it soooo much. Honesty its a other Typ of Game. The First was Puzzle the second is a Hack`n Slash. Its a small Game, but its full of Passion and Love of the Developer. So much Things to see and to collect.
I am very happy, this Game is now out.
And i am proud to support this Project with my Money. Thank you ^^

I've been following this dev's work for awhile and this is a pretty big leap from their other action title, Huuna Mina. It's cobbled together from Unity assists and simple 3D character models, but it's really fun to play anyways. It's mostly a button masher action title, but the leveling up system basically negates any significant difficulty and just makes it a fun title to zone out to.

Plus, it's fun dressing your character in the most ridiculous fashion possible, just to see their appearance in the mostly playeed straight and dramatic cutscenes. You can make Cinderella wear a gimp mask and ballgag and she will have a serious moment discussing a tragic death of two lovers while wearing them, and that's amazing.

And if you couldn't tell, yes, the dev has a bondage thing going on in all his games. It's oddly downplayed here, outside a few boss traps, most reused from the original game (except the final boss' shackle forest thing, which is neat). I don't mind, though, because too much indulgence into that would have been distracting (I suspect there's way more to find in the challenges).

Oh, and Snow White is a gothic lolita idol who has an actual musical performance in game. I thought that was important for you to know.

I wish I could give this game praise as I'm sure Hajime is very proud and passionate about this title and must have put a lot of time and effort into creating it but it is not a good game. From gameplay depth, level design, story writing, everything is beyond bad. If this game was a lot cheaper, maybe a few bucks, I could maybe overlook its amateurish faults, but its not a few bucks, its $17 and I could never recommend this game at that price point.
