Going away party for when the Beamdog client officially shuts down?

[Unexpected]

I had a brilliant idea based on older events where players celebrated the end of a service. I propose as many of us as possible hop on any multiplayer server we find in NWN, or quest together with our friends in BG or IWD during the final 24 hours of the client's lifespan so we can give a proper sendoff and a thank you to the company that worked so much to preserve Bioware's greatest RPGs

That from over a year ago and absolutely no news has been released since then. Also aren't all the servers run client side,meaning you could still direct connect to any server you want?

That from over a year ago and absolutely no news has been released since then. Also aren't all the servers run client side,meaning you could still direct connect to any server you want?

it was from over a year ago but just a month prior i emailed them and heard back that the client shutdown was still being planned. also im not saying all online servers would die but the idea is to more so show gratitude to the company that managed to preserve and remaster these old rpgs, like how the original xbox players did a halo 2 marathon until the xbox live servers for it closed in 2010

You seem to be misinformed. That is a post about the Beamdog Client as in a "Shop" that sells games like for instance the "Steam Client"

It has nothing to do with the servers for the game.

they're shutting down their own store client that was independent from steam drm
