Is the base game worth buying?

I have been a huge fan of the RCT and Zoo Tycoon series. I lost my mind when RCT3 got a Wild expansion pack!

But Frontier killed my love for those games with Planet Coaster. I bought the base game that cost a load of money and guess what? You couldn't even complete the FIST CAMPAIGN without buying a DLC (I mean, technically you could by placing two of the same ride but it is ridiculous that the game needs you to place 3 rides and a coaster and gives you 2 rides in total)

So, my question is... How many animals and features would I get in the base game with Planet Zoo?

I'd hate buying a game at full price only to get 20% of the actual game considering this game has 4 DLCs with each of them providing like 3 animals

The base game and all the DLCs are very much worth the asking price if you want to get the full experience. If you just want the base game, you still get a lot of stuff to use and play with and it's still very much worth the price.

I don't think anyone can possibly answer this for you. For me, I bought the base game first and played it for awhile, then bought the expansions. I think if you buy the base game and don't like it you can get a refund if you ask within 2 hours, but I would definitely check that to be sure. It has been a steep learning curve for me as I've never played anything near this detailed - when I was young you played Sim City 2000 and liked it, by gosh. Also, get off my lawn. If you've played Planet Coaster you'll be more familiar with the commands and etc.

Base game is good and challenging at every level (at least for me), personally I think the dlc arent enough bang for you buck and have only bought 1 (they arent really necessary to play the game and more just exotic extras). Base game is worth the price for sure tho
