Doing things the hard way-The most difficult thing in the world
Honestly the most challenging part of the game for me. Being a completionist, I had to get all the trinkets. Getting to the starting point was a breeze and puts your mind in a false sense of confidence. The room itself looked too easy; a simple platform with the trinket, a small block standing between you and it, and a log saying "They'll never get this one!" which at the time made you think the trinket's owner was an idiot. You soon found out what an evil genius he truly was. You cannot get the trinket by walking forward so you had to go up. That is where you will begin to see how difficult getting this trinket will be. You have so much trouble and die so many times that you forget you saw the rooms on your way down. You think there will only be three. You clap yourself on the back only to die on the spikes in the fourth room. If you're smart (which I wasn't) you would go back up, away from the trinket, to re-survey the rooms. You would see there was five and plan accordingly. You should have seen my face when I finally beat the fourth room only to instantly die on the fifth. Then, if that's not enough, you will have to; bounce of a pressure platform that disappears shortly after touching it, go back through all five rooms, and then you can collect your prize. An in game trinket isn't enough to congratulate you for your accomplishment, you deserve a ♥♥♥♥ing medal. Sure, you only got it out of spite at that point. Just got it so you could simply say, "♥♥♥♥ you game, you don't have ♥♥♥♥ on me!" The rooms involved and they're names are quite devious, unless you had to go through them, then they might as well have been made by Hitler and gone around setting an orphanarium ablaze. Anyways, that was and still is the most difficult thing in video games for me. What is yours?

Tried it for about an hour. Furthest I got was at vici falling down. I gave up, turned on invincibility mode and grabbed that trinket in shame.

Veni Vidi Vici was fun... Frustrating but fun :P I managed to get all the way up and back down three times. The first time I hit the wall above the trinket and died, the second time I landed back where I started, and then finally on the third attempt I actually got it :P It inspired me to make something similar in the level I'm making at the moment :P

Oh right I remember that one.
Purest Unobtanium could be considered harder, since you have to find it first.

There's also Prize for the Reckless. The one time that the game's many checkpoints isn't a benefit as much as it is a disadvantage.

that was another place called something like "edge games" or smth oh.. gettind THIS trinket was much more difficult for me. first of all the most difficult is to understand HOW to do this. i tried to run it very fast many times but failed.. and on about a thouthand try i thought "look, what about not running fast from them but jumping right between them!" and after another couple of thouthends of tries i succeded!! dont think it was the most difficult in my life but for this game.. yes it made me work hard to do this. and also if u think that level was hard, u should probably not played Super Meat Boy! this is the real hell father of today`s HARDCORE GAMING.

I was thinking the same way as the op, and that mentality was the thing keeping me away from getting the trinket. I played and finished the game at regular intervals on 3 days. If in one session I didnt get the trinket I just forgot about it and keep moving on. Finally with perseverance I got it, and I feel damn rewarded.

Now if you are a completionist, and thought this was hard, then I feel sorry for you.
Try not to get killed for one minute during the 2-rope minigame after finishing the game, and then come back and post.

Funny that people born during the late super NES, psx era think these kind of games are "hardcore". Hardcore gaming today was regular gaming before.

If you thought Veni Vidi Vici was nasty, about half the player levels are worse for most of their screens.

^ Yeah, no kidding. These games have checkpoints at completely reasonable intervals. Old-school stuff from my day would make you do this stuff from beginning to end in one go with lives. Like, not even all that many of them.

Mine would be playing Super Meat Boy, getting close to beating a hard level, then having to go all the way back. So is true for many other games. Super Gravitron manages to tick me off a lot, though. Since OP is a perfectionist, I must say this to them: For getting a completionist's ranking, you must beat all TimeTrals with a grade "V". This includes Veni Vidi Vici, under the time, without dieing. Have fun!
