Is it possible to beat Half-Life without taking damage?
I've never seen anyone tried it

Shouldn't be too hard. You need alot of camping though but that's about it.

I'd like to see speedrunners try that.

Godmode, they won't take any damage.

Definitely possible

At the end of Blast Pit you are forced to take damage, but I'm sure there is a way to avoid said damage, I'll taake a look at YT. But the real problem are the soldiers, even the pathetic machine gunners can ruin your challenge. You'll need to be super pro with the grenades.

you are not forced to take damage, just dont stand so close to the console
the fall into the pit doesn't force damage either as long as you land in the pool

no bud, I'm not talking about that part. I'm talking about the very end of the chapter, just before Power Up starts.

You'll be save-scumming a lot.

well what i said still holds true for the ps2 version but you're right i forgot about that table. i would just not count it then, if you had 100hp when you hit it and get healed back to 100 then no harm no foul imo

If you have 100hp you still loss a lot of hp, even with those two medkits on the table the max amount of hp you will have is 66hp <<< always considering we do the intended way; I'm still more or less sure there is a trick to get down without taking damage if you hug the edges of the pipe that breaks.

i never take that much damage from the drop, but i guess you could say im hugging the pipe, move backward while sliding will also slow descent

you can get into the ceiling rafters above the room if you back up as it breaks and then jump on some of the pipe edges too but that's a different topic

do the best to minimize it, but even if you end up with 66hp id say as long as you dont take anymore damage you're fine, since this area is rather precarious as opposed to everywhere else this one is pretty unavoidable, unless a way is found to totally avoid damage

It's still as considered as taken damage because of the fall ngl.

Hugging the edges of the pipe, now that is possible. This could help you defy physics and fall damage apparently

it would be no different than a 'pacifist run' making an exception where killing is required to progress, eg. a boss battle

unless someone finds a for sure way to avoid all fall damage in that part
