We expect the future to be bright and nice
We see the present is balanced, not excessevely good nor bad
And the past has always some good times and bad times which makes us feel both sad and happy at the same time
Anyway, here it goes:
I've seen the piano theories that people have commented in the DDLC forum here in Steam.
If you haven't you should check them since they're actually pretty interesting and they're too long to resume here ( and I'm too lazy )
I've been thinking that it MIGHT , and I insist, MIGHT be a Monika's joke.
How so?
Well I think that she's not actually practising piano , but practising PHYTON .
This game was made with python right? Well, Monika is practising python so she won't mess up the game when editing the files and scripts
Also she says that she will show the player her "song" when she's ready, meaning that she will modify the game when she's more confident about it so she won't destroy anything accidentally.
The evolution of the "piano classes"
Oh jeez...I didn't break anything, did I? Hold on a sec, I can probably fix this...I think...
Actually, you know what? This would probably be a lot easier if I just deleted her. She's the one who's making this so difficult. Ahaha! Well, here's goes nothing.
scare you off. Again, she maybe "increased" her obsession or modified her script. In the end, she saw that it was going to end like Sayori. So when she also commited suicide ( she knew she was going to do so *have a nice weekend*) , she decided to delete EVERYTHING because she was feeling more confident with her " piano" skills
So, what do you think guys?
Interesting?
Stupid?
Should have I been sober while writing this?
Let me know what you think and thanks for reading this far!
That's an intersting theory. I do have a quote from Monika in the void that might mess it up a bit though (sorry).
"Man, I wish there was a piano in here..."
"I never got to finish that song I was working on."
"And after I worked so hard on it..."
"I never even got a chance to play it for you."
"Well...it is what it is, right?"
"No sense having any regrets."
"I already get to be here with you forever."
Depending on how you interpret this, it could support or refute the piano theory. In support of it, she could be lamenting the fact that there isn't a computer there to show off her new python skills. Another meaning one could take from it is that the "song" she was working on was her own path in the game that the player could take and that she had to destroy all her hard work when she destroyed everything else. But there wouldn't be too much sense in regretting it because she gets to spend the rest of forever with you, right?
However, she openly changes features of the game at that point and doesn't hide it from the player. If her piano skills are really python skills, why would she still be maintaining the facade at this point? That part doesn't make sense to me but you could interpret it any way you like. If there's something you think I've overlooked I'd like to hear about it.
Falconhoof, remember Monika's MO is manipulator. Leopards do not change their spots. The little speech to the player character is a metaphor: piano=computer, finish that script, play=run it for you,. And forever= mission accomplished. (And don't let the poor sap know how he's been played.)
About there wouldn't be too much sense in regretting it(destroying all) because she gets to spend the rest of forever with you, right?
Well, her final objective was to spend the rest of her time with you, yes, but she accomplished it in a way that didn't satisfy her. She wanted to play with you during the game. She wanted your poems to be for her, she wanted her own CGs but instead she didn't obtain anything at all. She just was there, watching how you didn't show a single shadow of attention to her. That drove her insanely jealous (she mentions this jealousy in the void if I'm not wrong) and decided to send all to hell just to be with you ( yet she didn't actually delete anything but well)
It's true that she openly changes features of the game at that point and doesn't hide it from the player. But, she wants to keep the game, I mean, she wants to see where it goes, if she can actually make you hate them rather than just throwing you with her to the void (which would be rather boring and dull)
Like xae-chan says Monika's MO is manipulator
She probably enjoys trying to control the girls, playing with you , yet it's true that she ends up tired of trying.
I hate this.
I CAN'T DO ANYTHING. NOTHING.
No matter how many times you play. It's all the same.
It would be really, really easy to kill myself right now. But that would mean I don't get to talk to you anymore.
All I want is for you to hate them. Why is that so hard?
That also explains why she actually stops trying to hide the glitches and her control to the player
xae-chan's response resumes my idea pretty well
Up until you said that I hadn't really made much of a connection with manipulation to the player and that's a feasible explanation for the bit I was missing. I like how you pointed out that being late for anything is out of character for her. That does make it much more suspicious.
