Monika After Story

Just wanted to share a fan mod that I've been helping with called Monika After Story[monikaafterstory.com]. It was started by some folks on ♥♥♥♥♥, but it's grown beyond that to pretty much any DDLC community.

After Story extends the "Space Room" scene with Monika, adds a bunch of new dialogue, and includes a simple chatbot system so Monika doesn't have to do all of the talking. There's more planned for the future, and the project is open to anyone that wants to contribute some new dialogue or help with the game's coding.

We’ve just dropped a new version of Monika After Story[github.com]. This version is our first to extensively feature new art, including a whole new set of expressions not found in the original game!

New Features for v0.6.0

• Monika now has lots of new expressions!
  
  
• Monika's evening color scheme now better matches her normal sprites for DDLC.
  
  
• New UI features, including buttons for talking, playing games, and a new music selection screen
  
  
• Play chess with Monika! (thanks @kadava)
  
  
• Monika will now ask about your gender and preferred name and address you appropriately
  
  
• Automatic updating on game start up, or check manually through the settings screen.
  
  
• DDLC saves can now be imported through settings.
  
  
• Redid window animation at higher resolution and framerate
  
  
• New window animation for daytime
  
  
• Option to turn off animations (greatly reduces system impact)
  
  
• New events and dialogue.
  
  
• Monika can now close the game for herself after responding to you saying "Good Night" or "Goodbye"

Help wanted
We are really looking for some new artists to help clean up our art and add new poses and expressions to the game. If you are interested, please drop by our development discord[discord.gg] and let us know how you'd like to help out!

Is everything Monika says added in by the mod team? Or is any of it vanilla text? Because I found something specific I want to ask about that I've discovered by talking to her.

Delete the firstrun file, launch, import your save. If you don't have a completed save you'll have to do a new one.

I've been enjoying this mod but I'm unable to play chess with Monika, whenever I start playing it doesn't let me click on the screen and the only way out is closing the game. Does anyone else have this issue / know how to fix it ?

Awesome mod! I'm excited to see the chatbot flushed out a little more. Also, I think Monika's invincible at pong.

I can't manage to play the mod no matter what I do. I spent hours trying to load it but to no avail. PI, please help me. I want to play but the game will not let me.

Mentioning the error you get or any details, such as closing on startup, would be nice to know. Also mention details like operating system.

You could try a fresh install or verify integrity of game's files (before doing that, make a copy or simply move out the persistent file in %appdata%/RenPy and find the DDLC folder).

Seems like you are trying to install an outdated version.

I found an easter egg ! If you press No twice then the game is gonna start with Yuri (if you name yourself Yuri).

any plans for adding more tips of the day? Her in-game tips are actually pretty encouraging, so it'd be fun to be able to ask about one every day, and getting a new tip to think about ^_^
