Flying Edge has spoiled me
Found the flying sword in Twin Towers, and I've used it pretty much the whole game. It makes certain areas and bosses infinitely easier. Alfred was a pain in my ass until I switched back to Flying Edge. The flying monsters get wrecked by it, and if a monster is big enough or you space your attack right you can even hit twice with it. I love it, but it feels like why would I use any other weapon lol

Please use the hidden techniques, they are so much fun. Flying Edge has none sadly, but many weapons have. Makes them interesting to use.

i love bandit's blade hidden technique , its alucard's teleport slash for only 10 mana and an incredibly easy combo command

I hope that someone manages to put up a bookshelf location map on the wiki before too long. I know I've got to be missing a million bookcases.

There aren't that many. But you can unlock all moves without them and the pattern for each weapon type stays the same.

Flying Edge and Spiral Sword have been carrying me hard through this game. Not to mention the utterly broken Welcome Company Shard.

God I hate how good Welcome Home is. I wish it would have been fireballs like in the previous games. We see enough backer portraits in this castle. Did we really need one of the best spells to be sweaty rich nerds circling me? lol

there's fireballs , in fact the fist directional shard you get is fireballs

Oracle blade, the upgraded variant of flying edge, is my most used sword. the swords ability to deal damage as it flies back to you is too useful for me. Pair it with the fact oracle blade gives 2 swords to throw makes it an amazing ranged weapon. Sometimes I'll switch it up and use a spear or katana, but Oracle blade is still my favorite.

I was referring to the spell Welcome Home being a copy of a spell from previous castlevanias where Fireballs circle you.

I need a few more ingredients for the upgrade but my god I need to farm them now! Didn't know it was two swords lol. I didn't think much of the katana till I got to doppleganger and got weeb'd down by my double.

I'm honestly not sure why you'd bother with the flying swords in this one. I mean, sure, in SotN they had no real competitor, but in this we have guns (which are strong as all hell and come with a variety of specialised ammo) and a plethora of magic which can outdamage the flying swords at the press of a button (on some spells it's basically pressing the big red button to wipe everything off the screen).

I like the flying swords mainly because when they fly back they move and spin slightly upward so they can attack enemies that are slightly above and away from you which is useful when killing flying enemies. Also when you use standstill and make it so the sword stops inside the enemy it does damage infinitely til you run out of mana. So you can just shoot both swords into the enemy and wait til they die from a safe distance.

Edit: Also flying sword can go through walls.

I only used those for a very short time, I've been carried by Riga spells, mostly. Switched to Flamethrower for second boss.

Yeah, the flying swords score multiple hits on big enemies, go through walls and ceilings, and don't spend ammo. Also Zangetsu doesn't auto block them, for what it's worth. And they do all this for the low low cost of no resources.
