*And both being modern tennis games, they better feature the challenge system!
Better Character Creator (at least from footage I have seen)
Has a Stadium Creator and the Ability to share content with other users.
No DLC or Special Tier edition, No Loot Box Like Mechanics.
Nadal forehand animation looks good at times, and other times bit weird (left steps in front and not a looped forehand but a continental grip forehand?....could be that Dev copied Nadal 2009 FO Form. Where he was messing with his forehand motion). T
TWT Tour:
There are some animation flaws from the Beta (Federer serve is a bit off....the racquet not pointing 90 degrees in trophy position but 45 degrees instead, Gasquet hitting 2 handers on occasion).
Agassi/McEnroe locked behind as paid dlc/Special Edition or Pre Order Bonus.
Skill Cards seem worrisome...could be a neat idea being able to select a perk before a point. Pay for Card Packs!?, Maybe Skill Card pack have a minor effect.
BOTH:
Both have missing players in their roster.
AO missing key male players like Federer and Djokovic.
TWT missing key male players Nadal and Djokovic.
Roster can be better from both sides but they would look into it. No guarantee that there will be more.
Remains to be seen if TWT will have a sharing feature. If AO Tennis and TWT can't acquire licenses for players, would like to see a Doppelganger version of them with stroke and serve.
I've heard AO Tennis has had AI with no Stamina decreasing, Teleportation and teeing off Smash Returns.
TWT stroke and movement are more fluid than AO. More variance in footing after strokes (lift front leg, hit off standing back leg. AO Tennis only has back leg to front or side)
AO Tennis easier to play DTl. Less errors at least comparing both game play videos from TWT and AO.
Hoping both have a Steep skill curve like in Top Spin 4. Right now TWT seems more Top Spin 4. AO looks like EA GS Tennis 2 which was half sim/arcade. Hopefully no risk shots like Top Spin 1 and 3. Once you got the timing for those....easy to merk players online.
I would wait for a few reviews from both games to make an informed decision. I am leaning more to TWT as a Fedtard and gameplay wise. Only by a bit because there not much info on TWT.
TWT, you can see the takeaway from Top Spin 4. Good thing BP has former Top Spin devs.
Take into account both Dev teams don't have the same money pit that 2K, EA, and Sega had to work with their tennis games. I for one not putting my expectations too high, just hoping for a solid experience. If both games do well, hope they bring in a new tennis game every 3 years.
More like current gen rather than next gen.
If Breakpoint Studios can iterate on Tennis: World Tour and release a sequel in a few years, it could be amazing.
