Polish language typos, mistranslations, suggestions

Hello there!

First off, allow me to say that I absolutely adore this game, and think it's a worthy successor to the DR 1.0.

That being said, I'm a Pole, and allow me to tell you, if a Pole doesn't complain, you should probably check their pulse, because they might be dead.

So, it's my to get all nitpicky and report some issues with the Polish localization of the game.



1. In the car tuning section, there is a typo in the toe adjustment slider. The right label of the slider says "Dodanti", while it should say "Dodatni" instead.

2. In the car data section, both "Aspiracja" and "Naturalne" are plain wrong. The word "aspiracja" does mean "aspiration", but not in context of "engine aspiration". I honestly don't know what word should be used, but I do know that this one should not. Simirarly, "naturalne" does mean "natural", but "naturally aspirated" is "wolnossący" in Polish.

3. In the car market, the label denoting that the car is a used one should be "używany", not "wykorzystany". Wykorzystany *does* mean "used", but "used" as in "utilised" or "exploited", not "previously owned by someone else".

4. Is it possible to translate "Łęczna County" to "Powiat łęczyński"? I see no reason to continue the English translation of a Polish region name in the Polish version of the game. Especially seeing that "Brittany" did get translated to the region's Polish name ("Bretania") in the name of the rallycross stage.

5. The translations for "light rain" seem to be inconsistent. It's sometimes translated as "przelotny deszcz", and sometimes as "słaby deszcz". Both are correct to my ear, but I think the game should stick to one translation of the term.

6. In the championship standings table, the "results" column name seems to be mistakenly taken from another language (Italian, I think?). "Risultati" is not a word in Polish.

7. I don't have a screenshot for that, but the "terminal damage" pop-up was translated to "POWAŻNE UDEŻENIE". That second word should *not* be spelled with a Ż. It should be spelled with an RZ: "UDERZENIE".

EDIT.: Huh. As I was typing this, an update rolled out. Give me a moment to update and see which (if any) of those issues persist.

EDIT 2.: Well, it seems I was already running on the updated version all along. Good.

Allow me to add a few more typos, one of which I noticed while preparing a screenshot for the other typo

1) Tire compound type translations are all over the place. Soft/Medium/Hard are translated as Miękkie/Średni/Wysoki, while Wysoki does not even mean Hard. It should be Miękkie/Średnie/Twarde instead.

I could have also sworn I saw Hard translated as Trudny (which indeed means "hard", but as in "challenging", not as in "not soft"), but I can't find it in the game now.

2) Intro to 60s historic rally has a typo - "akie" should be "jakie".

With this and rz/ż issues reported in the first post I strongly believe those translations have not even been spellchecked. Kind of sad, as a lot of low hanging fruit could have been found automatically this way.

In wheel settings, "steering linearity" was translated as "precyzja sterowania" (steering precision), but I think it'd be better as "liniowość sterowania" or "liniowość kierownicy".

Also, I have to say I was really looking forward to the polish co-driver's voice, but was very disappointed with how it came out and promptly switched to the english version. Sadly, that's probably gonna stay that way unlike these small translation errors...

I actually kinda disagree. IMO this co-driver sounds much better and more believeable than DiRT 4 one.

I only played a bit of Dirt 4 when it was free during a weekend, so I can't really remember the codriver there, but for me DR1 was great, DR2 english is ok, and DR2 polish is meh. But obviously just my opinion, not trying to state it as a fact ;)
