Massive stuttering every couple of seconds with G27 wheel plugged in
So first off, my PC specs are pretty good:
9900k
2080 Ti

Even on medium settings, I'm getting a regular stutter every couple of seconds, like clockwork. My framerate is pegged at 165, it's just a hard stutter, over and over. Changing various settings does nothing.

UPDATE: Discovered it's 100% caused by having my Logitech G27 plugged in. If I unplug it, it's smooth as butter. Plug it back in, back to stuttering. I tried a thousand combinations of plugging into various USB ports (2.0 and 3.0 and 3.1), unplugging everything else, trying a powered USB hub, etc. etc. Nothing works.

Can confirm that disabling a specific device under Human Interface Devices in Device Manager worked. I had probably 20 different devices in the list, and I went through one by one until I found the issue. It was one of the 'USB Input Device' options with no specific identifier. It disabled my mouse when I disabled it, and my game ran 100% perfect after. Plugged in a different mouse later after playing to re-enable it. Thank god this fixed it. Thank you

Thanks to Filip Lenz
Thanks for the shoutout ;) I'v had more contact with them about the fix / workaround the community made with disabling USB devices in Device manager, and they are looking into it.

I'm using a Logitech G25. In Dirt Rally 1 i solved the stuttering problem after a long search by deactivating "mouse control in UI" in the InGame menu (or something similar - translated from german). Unfortunately this option is no longer available in Dirt Rally 2. Anyway, the tip with the deactivation of certain USB devices also worked for me. Thank you very much for that.

FYI. I was having the stuttering with my G27 wheel plugged in. I was using MSI Afterburner as well... With this tuned off the stuttering stopped. DR2 Plays great without this in the background for me.. I hope it gets a fix but until then I'll just keep MSI-A tuned off for this.

Update a few days later. With afterburner running / no stuttering at all even with increased High / ultra graphics ... OC GTX 980... nothing changed in the setup. ..??

Further update a few days later again. not sure how but no stuttering at all now. Looks very nice, runs well and smmoooth.
My opinion now... Dirt Rally was great... Dirt 4 was OK. ... Dirt Rally 2 Awesome!! (so far)

WELL! WTF!! a day later... graphics back to stuttering and gpu up and gown like a yoyo.. nothing in my pc or settings have changed since yesterday.. but WTF... stuttering like F**k!!!!!
I was clearly in a false sense of security with this game yesterday.!! I have never seen anything like this issue....

Hmm.. back to smooth and awesome again!!.. wtf.

Thank you so much Filip and thank you ALEX for showing this post. Seems like I have no clue how twitter works. :D <3
Can't wait for their fix. Until then I won't play too much, since it's really annoying. :'D

So, this is strange. My game was working perfectly until last night. I now have this exact issue...but when my mouse is plugged in. Logitech G502.

I made no changes to my PC. I have not had time to look into it yet, but I did verify that it is when the mouse is plugged in.

I fired up DR1 just to test, and that, along with my other games are unaffected.

I have a G502 also. Did you try the fix posted earlier? Works for me although its annoying. It just so happens that once my mouse gets disabled under 'Human Interface Devices' the stuttering stops. G920 wheel also.

Right, stuttering can have a multitude of causes. It's always a good idea to sort things like drivers and running processes/apps and antivirus software before doing anything else.

Yep, it totally worked fine once I disabled that, but as you said, it's pretty annoying...So (and I don't know what the link would be) I did a clean install of the GFX drivers, and now it works fine even with my mouse plugged in. As I said, I don't know WHY this works, but it did...and I don't know why it was ONLY DR2.
