VR...steering wheel question
So i am running the game smooth 90fps with a t300 wheel.
While inside the headset, turning the steering wheel in the car looks like it is at a much lower fps then the game.
Is this because of the bit rate of the wheel?

Have not noticed that running at 90fps and using a Fanatec CSR wheel

Is your wheel a DD wheel?

Mine is not that is why i think it might have something to do with the bit rate of the wheel

This has been there since Dirt Rally 1 VR, for some reason they will:

a) Not change this animation to support 90 fps in VR
b) Not tell us why they won't change the animations

Moving from Project Cars 2 shows you how much of a difference having everything at the correct framerate changes things. It really kinda throws you out of the immersion.

Yeah i decided to play pcars 2 again just for this reason, and now i know it is not due to my wheels bit rate

These low frame rate animations are really disturbing in VR, removing the steering wheel make it more confortable that's right...remain these damn wipers . Every rainy tracks are less immersive :steamfacepalm:

With the combination of the wipers and wheel animations in vr it makes you think the whole game is lagging on a rainy track untill you move your head around and relize everything is smooth

I assume it's a choice made by the Devs to optimize performance. I notice while getting 90fps the wheel animation seems like it's running at a lower framerate and the wipers even more-so. It doesn't seem to have any effect on the actual unputs themselves. I have car details set to medium so I'm not sure if increasing it would fix it.

Oh yeah, My car details setting is at the same level. I will have to try that later and see if it makes a diff
