Black locked screen on start up after recent windows update
uninstalled, reinstalled... worked once for an hour with choppy graphics
now black screen locks up when starting from steam client

We've been informed that in one the Windows Updates that recently were introduced there were some issues for many games - mostly it related to people playing on two monitors. As that is the case it might be difficult to gauge what is creating the issue - perhaps it's on the Windows side of things.

Just to be extra sure - check all of your drivers and update them if that's necessary.

There are other titles that also are doing the same thing. One being Mechanic Simulator 18 for sure.

I will look into updating the onboard chipset graphics drivers on this laptop. I think it will still run on my desktop but that is inaccessible at the moment.

lets just say loading times are giving me flashbacks back to commodore 64
and
all of the cut scenes won't load, including the splash screens...

It goes from steam button to full screen black abyss, straight to the menu after 2-3 minutes of patience.

I lowered the in game option res and chose windowed mode and it didn't help the performance..

the parking lot loading screen after you choose to start a game from the main menu still loads/looks optimized(fluid movement frame rate) all of the buttons are still animated.

I put 6 hours into it yesterday and finished the campaign, but it only showed the shower of money guy and asked if you wanted to continue..

it locks up when you try to exit from the main menu so you have to use task manager to close it/end task

What is the game engine? maybe there are some steam loading options i can try out..
unparking/single processor, reduced res, whatever?
