Getting kicked for high ping

Hello, I’m a causal gamer who is very new to HLL, and I keep getting kicked from games because my ping is too high. Sometimes a few minutes after I’ve spawned in and got into position. It’s very annoying and I would like to know how to turn down ping. I don’t really know what it is or how to check mine. If it’s related to internet speed I live in Alaska and it’s VERY slow. (At least GCI in my area)

I dont think you can do anything at the moment. Servers can't handle such massive influx of players. HLL is unplayable for me right now

Ever heard of google? I think they also have that in Alaska.
How to check ping in HLL, the server browser says "PING" for individual servers and in game pressing Tab should take you to the list of players on both teams, find your name, there will be a number, that is your ping. Generally the lower = the better. So don't connect to servers that have a high one in the browser.

Problem is that our group is repeatedly getting kicked from servers for high ping despite the browser giving 30-40ms pings consistently for any nearby servers.

True, we do have Google :) I just wanted to ask a real person before I did that.
