Profile save failed?

My Hitman: Blood Money game starts up fine, but when I try to create a profile, it says "Saving" for about 3 seconds, then says "Saving failed". Can anybody help me? I can't play the game without a profile.

He said something about having permission to create a new folder in [Your user name]>Documents

My problem was caused due to my hard-drive being over half dead, so I change it, and it works!

i see.. i bought Hitman BM not long ago but didnt installed it yet i'll see later if i dont have any problems with it. (FYI i tend to read support topics before i buy a game just to be sure)

The hard drive where all my saves were supposed to be held (where the file Documents is) was corrupted. This caused all my saves made in that hard drive to dissapear. I have a new hard drive and PC now for that matter, so just check if there's some weird activity with the hard drive that holds the file Documents, and if there is then you're gonna have to get a new hard drive (they're really cheap ). Hope you solve your problem!

I found a fix for the Profile Save Failed Error in Windows 10.


Navigate to the location of your Steam.exe file typically (Program files(x86) > Steam) and right click on Steam.exe, hit properties > Compatability> Run as Administrator

Do the same for HitmanBloodMoney.exe (Program files(x86) > Steam>SteamApps>Common>Hitman Blood Money )

Running both as Administrator worked for me on Windows 10.

No new HD needed

I have the same problem as you but i can't seem to fix it.
I'm running windows 7 64bit.
My problem is i can't create a profile.
I really enjoyed this game back then. Please help.

I figured out my issue. I was logged in a way that my account was not recognized as a local administrator. Once I logged in correctly and my account was confirmed as a local admin, I had the correct permissions that allowed me to create a profile!

I have been mucking with this thing for a day now and no matter what compatability settings I have it wont work. I have both Steam and the BloodMoney.exe file set to run as administrator and it still refuses to save a profile and let me even start this game!!! This is total BS. Why am I paying Steam for this game that doesnt work and then recieve ZERO support when it has obviously been broken for YEARS (based on the dates in this thread)!!!

Turn off "Controlled Folder Access" on Windows 10.
Or add exclusions for Documents and Steam.
