World War 3

Game overheats my RTX3080
My RTX3080 usually stays around 75-80c in most games, but in World war 3, it shoots up to 85c in the menus and in game it hits 85+ very fast.

I've got an alert that will trigger and shot down my PC if my gpu hits 86c so who know how far it would go without it.
I've read the 30 series cards are safe up to 90c, but I don't want to push my card that hard and its crazy to me that every other game I've run has never pushed temps that high.
Is the game poorly optimized or is this normal for this game ?
I know it's a beta, but damn...

I've already capped the fps to 60 in game and 30 in the menus. The temps dropped dramatically in the menus, but I'd prefer not to play in game at 30fps.

Try undervolt your GPU for better temp:

Clean your GPU and enable GPU buffering. Got the same card and I'm on 50-60 max

my 3070 peaked at 71.1 after playing solid for an hour at ultra

85° is totally fine and your pc won't shut down when it hits 86°. There is no way.
Even my 2060 goes up to 80-84° when i play modern games on max settings.

If your card is maxed out or is using a lot of VRAM ofc it will be kinda hot. Same happens with every game that actually uses the GPU.

MW2
DOOM Eternal
BF 2042

etc etc. If you're worried then just cap ur fps at 60.
It will, I set it up to shutdown at that temp in iCue.

Thanks for the info e eryone !

It's just strange that I've had this card since it launched and no game has made it this hot.

Flightsim 2020
Hell let loose
Battlefield 5 & 2042
Destiny 2
Iracing
Cod
DayZ
Tomb raider games
Assassin's Creed Valhalla
Division 2

All hit no more than 80c

I have a 3080 and it doesn't go above 60 degrees, in a more demanding game it reaches 65 at most

I've been having that on pretty much all games all of a sudden on a 3060ti undervolt your cards no performance hit at all with like a 10c change just look it up on youtube

cap the game at 120, It doesn´t heat my 3060ti a lot and I have a zotac ( those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ can get pretty hot and loud)

Also, as they told you, is a must to undervolt rtx3000 series
I also have a 3080, i capped the game at 120 using nvidia control panel and temps don't go above 65
No game can overheat your card. Only bad airflow and no proper fan curve can. Have you ever edited your fan curve with msi? I reckon nvidia ships their cards with 50% max fan speed to appear silent

No, I've had it since October of 2020 and this issue never happened until I launched this game for the first time.
Never made a fan curve cause I was happy with the temps before now. The damn thing ramps up to 3700rpm under load now.

85°?
That's on the same level as MW2019.
Horse Glue™ Sep 29, 2022 @ 3:07pm
Why would you set your PC to shutdown at 85C? That's kind of silly my man, 85C is a normal operating temp for modern GPUs under very heavy load. GPUs have a much higher thermal threshold, and will automatically downclock themselves when they get too hot in order to shave off a few degrees.

You should learn to overclock/undervolt dude, will knock 10c off the card all for around 5FPS.
If you need to know how just let me know!
