World War 3

World War 3

Words of advice before purchasing, performance-wise
The game is 43GB, so hopefully I'd save some of y'all download time.

The gameplay is really fun and unique, totally worth $28 imo. HOWEVER, that is if your rig is decent enough to play the game. Because performance and optimization are the biggest weakness of WWIII.

Before purchase checklist:
1) The game is very very CPU heavy due to physics and stuff. Therefore, you will need a strong single core performance CPU(e.g i5-8400).
2) 16 GB RAM, 8GB is a no go. The menu alone eats up more than half of that.
3) You don't need a good GPU, but you WILL need a GPU with at least 6GB VRAM.

If everything is checked, then congrats! Welcome to BF 3.5 ;)
If you're a part of the unlucky fellows, I'd advice you to buy the game, support the devs and wait it out. I'm sure optimization patches will soften these issues, but It just won't happen in today's release.
====================================================================
Update:

Oct 24th: You're now able to play the game with a 2~3GB VRAM GPU at lowest settings. Some claim 8GB RAM is fine, but I personally cannot until I upgraded to 16GB, the game takes up to 12~14GB RAM when playing. So, I'll leave you to draw your own conclusion.

My rig: Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3, GTX 1060 3GB, 16GB RAM, SSD, I can play at med-high settings and maintain 60fps+ most of the time. However, not having textures at low would induce stuttering once in a while due to lack of VRAM. Other than that, it's very playable.

"due to physics and stuff"
The physics isnt really a huge perofrmance impact compared to the other "stuff"
Stuff being animation and draw calls, more geometry = more work for the CPU.

We need better culling in areas with lots of players, you can especially notice it when one side gets dominated and you point your camera towards where most players are on the map, your fps will tank as your CPU gets bogged down by all the extra geometry of each player.
Guess I won't be getting the game, then. I'm a few months out from being willing to upgrade, and I'm well under the specs being recommended. Have been trying to wait for the Zen2 processors and AMD's next video card release.

Thanks for info Lymark, I will buy it anyway but at the moment it will not be without performance issues. I have 6GB of VRAM and 16 GB of RAM but CPU is FX-8350, I expect frame drops here and there.
checklist aint got nothing on me bro , cant wait for 8 hours to be up already.
I already asked this question but since this thread goes towards the direction that I feel I can be helped....

So, when I check if I can run it.

Everyhing exceeds except my CPU:

Minimum: Intel Core i5-2500K CPU
You Have: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670 CPU @ 3.40GHz

------

this is my graphics card :

Minimum: Geforce GTX 770 or AMD Radeon HD 7870
You Have: AMD Radeon (TM) R7 370 Series

--------

So my cpu sucks, Ive been told that I can still run it before? I will buy it and will refund if I cant play it, but can you guys tell me if I might damage pc just for trying to run it?

Lymark can know it but imo unless you have bad cooling or powersupply it should not be a problem.

It is even possible you will run it better than me, in case there is enough options to lower. I can see your GPU has only 2GB of VRAM, that can be a problem.
Ok guys, I will give it a shot fingers crossed. Didnt even realize my card vram was bad until just this moment, I will tweak everything before refunding.

This soldier wants action

I wish you luck cos I am in the same situation with CPU :D
I will try it but if not run on least Medium with least 100 f.p.s.
there is no point to buy it and play the Battlefield 4 killer.
My spec:
Monitor - Acer 144hz.
GPU - Rx 580 Nitro 4gb.
CPU - fx 8320 clocket to 4gb no Turbo.
RAM 8gb. 2133hz.
SSD/HDD :)....
hmm, so i got a
AMD FX(tm) -8350 Eight Core Processor with 4.00 GHz do you think this will be enough? I think my MSI 1070 OC will do a great job at this game..

Thank you man!

can I add you to my friend list just in case we find a way to run the way smoother?
