Is VR optional? Or is it the only way to play the game?

From the teaser it seems like a game I would love to play. However I don't have VR equipment nor am I interested in playing like that.

Would love an answer from the devs.

It completely looks like a regular FPS, pretty sure VR is optional, it's description doesnt even say it's a VR game, but just a first person shooter
