If you liked Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime but felt like it didn't have enough basketball, try this!

Ballers in a Dangerous Space Jam.

I first played Regular Human Basketball at a games expo earlier in the year and fell in love with it. Later my friend and I received a Steam key for our local multiplayer video series called Side by Side. The Regular Human Basketball episode you can catch here: https://youtu.be/BqwqzVXNXmc

Regular Human Basketball is like a PvP b.ball version of Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time. You've got two robots each controlled internally by human players by activating different switches on different levels or platforms--imagine Heath Robinson-esque (Heath Robo?) dunking versions of Pacific Rim's Jaegers and you're almost there. You can retract or extend your wheeled legs to scrape under or over your foe, use your magnet to grab and shoot the ball or enable your thrusters to take flight, y'know, just like a Regular Human.

The aim of the game is ultimately to shoot more hoops than your opponent, and that's pretty much about it, but the real magic here is the chaos that ensues from operating something so big and cumbersome. Points are hard won which makes them all the more exciting. Add more players to the mix and you've got an epic co-operative competitive yelling match on your hands. You can even board each other's robots. I repeat: cross-robot boarding.

It's worth noting that there's no single-player here but there is online multiplayer, which is a very welcome feature if you've no local friends.

At £4/$5 you can't go wrong.

Just a normal game about normal people playing basketball.

This is a regular human review. I give it a regular human standardised numerical value of 9.975 out of a possible 10 units of value.

This is a game that best played with full players.

Pros:
Built-in GIF system that can easily save your replays and share them on the internet.
Supports up to 4 players on a single keyboard.

Cons:
Unskippable replay in online play.
Both robots' interior layout are the same, without the mirrored layout for the up/down part I feel the green robot always have the advantage on offense at the beginning.

Got it from the humble bundle.

I was excited to play it co-op with my partner, until we realised we have to either play against each other, or against other people online. 1 vs 1 was not very fun and there is nobody online, we managed to find 1 opponent but he forfeited after 30 second.

The game can probably be great during a party with at least 4 players (2 vs 2)

I think it is a missed opportunity from the devs, this game desperately needs an AI to play against. This is the kind of game that "could be awesome if only".

I'll keep it under watch for some time, see if an update bring it to a state I could enjoy playing.

This game would be amazing if their were more people playing this game.

Do not buy game unless you have friends to play with.

Only get this game if
1) A friend has it
2) You can gift it to a friend
3) You constantly have people to play local multiplayer with
4) You like waiting hours for an online game
Overall, Good game, bad system. There should be at least a badly made VS. AI mode added.
