Newbie Questions
Hi everyone!

I was wondering if you could tell me how to tell if a weapon/armor is better than the one you already have. I know that the thumbs up or down is a good indication, but sometimes they have minuses on them. Is it better to get an armor/weapon that gives good stats but has a minus on resistance/ has less attack?

Also, are there any DD "netiquettes" when playing with other people? I always play Private Matches so I don't know.

I'm new to Steam and don't really know anyone. So, I'm looking for people to play with. Let's add each other :D

Not exactly, weapons are distributed randomly in Dungeon Defenders if you get it either after boss battle on a map or from a map drop. Stats spawn random too. It applies the same to armor, just because a armor has a certain amount of ups doesn't mean that it is better. For example, armor has different levels : godly, myth, trans. , supreme, Ultimate, Ult+ and finally Ult++. As the armor level goes up , their drop rate is rarer. Esentially the better level ( quality) such as trans. supreme etc... the armor is , the more the tower/ dps stats increase. EX: is ultimate caps in dmg. with set bonus at 840 , trans at 559 and supreme at 640 or 680. Set bonus is what you want to have, extra pts. added to your overall set or stats ( that means if it's leather, you want 3 more leather pieces to complete a set, same applies to plate, mail, and chain armor too. You also have resistances which help you to survive and not die on maps, for dps you always want to up those to max. Thus weapons exist as supreme, trans, myth, godly, ult, ult+ and ult++ as well.

If you have any other questions later just let me know because even though I am mostly done actively playing this game I know quite alot about most of the maps , the best weapons and armor cap information as well as builds for various maps.

Just in case your wondering I have sold almost all my dps and builder sets except one. I had done this because I've been wanting to quit this game. I might come back but I doubt it since I know life will get in the way most likely.

Now on to your second question: Tips for Public matches:
1. Don't build anything unless you get the hosts permission to build because otherwise almost 99% of the time they will kick if someone builds and they don't want someone to build, so always ask for permission from host.

2. Try not to stand on top or right near the side of the crystal, especially when going into NM mode ogres are lead esentially to crystals if you stand on top or way too close to it.

3. Remember it is a team effort and don't always think you have to carry on the load by yourself.

Those are the three main rules that are mostly universal for public matches to avoid aggrevating or getting kicked from public matches. Also make sure you up your resist especially later if you choose to try insane or NM modes because some hosts will kick if resist aren't high enough.
