How would this game compare to...?
Orcs Must Die 2 and Sanctum? Yeah, I know I could try the demo, but that's not feasible at the moment (on a trip to see my in-laws) and the sale's going on now.

Both my wife and I really enjoy OMD2 and Sanctum, so we're wondering if we'd like DD. We'd probably only play co-op with each other, so if the game really needs four players to accomplish its goals, that's a strike against it for us.

Also, if this is a game we'd want to play, which DLC is really good? I know it's all on sale, but are there any DLC packages that're totally and completely unnecessary? Any particular missions or maps that're just plain bad or heroes that're more or less useless/worthless?

Thanks ahead of time! :)

I enjoyed Dungeon Defenders more than Orcs Must Die and Sanctum. I'd also get the entire DLC bundle when it's on sale. However, Tinkerer's Lab doesn't come in the complete package you'll have to add that to your cart seperately.

This is all a personal opinion, but i thought sanctum was quite awful, didn't enjoy that one at all.

Out of the three, Orcs must Die 2 is probably my favorite, but i never felt like it had much replayability, where as Dungeon Defenders lasts you a really long time.

Dungeon defenders Doesn't require 4 players, a lot of people strictly solo, It's easy to switch characters on the fly to take advantage of the other towers :) So don't worry about that, you won't miss out.

I'd heartily recommend the game, humble bundle has it on sale for about 12-13$ i believe ( The complete package ) So this is a great time to get it.

I'd say you shouldn't miss out on any of the DLC with the current deals, but off the top of my head the most important ones are the Summoner class, EV class, and all the map packs you can get, especially Eternia.

I'd strongly recommend DD.
4 players aren't needed at all, though it is fun. I went through a huge portion of the game with a friend and nowadays I play solo and enjoy it just as much.

There's a huge amount of life in the game and I'd say for £3 it's a steal. I think I have something like 250 hours of playtime from it at the moment and there are still things to do, that I haven't seen and things I enjoy doing again and again.

I enjoyed Sanctum a lot but I still say it pales in comparison to DD.

OMD2 was more fun IMO, but DD is definitely worth it. My wife and I played it together for awhile until we got distracted by other games, but probably will get back to it again at some point. At the discount it's a great buy.

Won't matter anyway. All the people trying to grab their free copy of L4D2 has crashed the store's servers. Can't buy anything, which is really aggravating because DD is on a Flash sale right now and even less expensive than before!

all of them are tower defense games. The point is having something to defend and waves of enemies coming, so you need to put objects in order to make their way harder, and also you have guns to kill enemy waves.
