Controller Support - Feedback Thread
Hi everyone,

The newest Tracks update includes full controller support.
Because Tracks has a lot of buttons and A LOT of menus we're still figuring out the best control scheme. The current layout can be seen in the update announcement.

For now all icons are Xbox but it should work fine regardless of your controller as long as you can figure out the buttons. Please post if you have any issues with alternate controllers.

There will also be a Steam Controller configuration available with certain adjustments made as well as optional gyroscope steering for the train.
I do plan to add native support for the Steam controller to hopefully include separate Action Sets for building and train control and some other nice features.

So if you have any thoughts or feedback, please post.
Many actions (such as Place/Undo) have multiple button sets available and it'll be useful for me to know which ones people prefer.

Controller support is great, especially the idea for a native Steam Controller configuration makes me excited for a future update.

No problem, a quick version is now available here[whoop.group]
Let me know how that works for you and I'll fix up anything which needs changing.

If I make any changes an up-to-date one will be on this page.[whoop.group]

Controller support is a great idea, however my Thrustmaster T 16000.m flightstick is not regognized at all; no buttons, no axes, it is like it is not there. Posting this as asked in the OP.

How can i get my controller to work? it isn't working at all here but works perfect in any other games that supports controller :(
It's a logitech controller in same layout as playstation controllers.

I'm actually not getting any controller response either. Wired Xbox 360 gamepad, Win 10. Is there something that needs to be toggled to enable controllers?

I'm in the same boat. My logitech controller works fine everywhere else, but this game does not pick up any of the buttons.

Wireless 360 controller. The gamepad works, but every 60 seconds or so it stops working. I have to move the mouse to get it to work again, or sometimes it starts working again after 15 seconds or so. It's very mysterious and annoying.

Yeah i rly want it work with my controllers as my kids were rly excited about this and they're not big enough to handle a keyboard and mouse yet :/
But they play Lego games just fine.

That is indeed odd, does the pop-up appear saying you've switched from a gamepad to keyboard or does it simply stop and then nothing happens?

For those of you having issues with Logitech controllers, could you post exactly which model you have?

Or alternatively, you can check yourself if your controllers support 'XInput'.
This is the controller standard that Unreal Engine understands and requires, if your controller doesn't use XInput then there is software which can potentially resolve that (such as x360ce)

I have a Logitech F710.

I confirmed it is in Xinput mode when I tested it with the game.

There is no pop up, or any indicaiton I have a controler regardless of which buttons I press, or if I disconnect it and reconnected it during the game. I have other games that are built off Unreal, and have no issues.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

Thanks.

It just stops, there's no feedback. Once I interact with the keyboard or mouse it magically starts working again. I don't have issues in any other software. This is also a fresh system as I formatted within the last week (Windows 10). I'll be formatting again very soon so I'll try to test again.

How curious, I'll investigate if people have experienced that with other UE4 games.
