You can play with controller or keyboard with mouse. We didn't have time to implement controller remapping but if enough people feel it's necessary, we can definitely look into it after launch :)

Playing it with a controller actually feels much more fluid than using keyboard and mouse. The game supports both devices simultaneously, which is a big plus, too.

I agree that the game feels a little more polished for controllers, but being able to switch between the 2 is great.

Please add keyboard+mouse remapping it would be a huge it would be HUGE improvement to the fluidity and enjoyement of the game.

I would very much love to see controller remapping. I speedrun an older JRPG and tried to change my button config to match (SNES controller layout, so A and B are reverse of in-game) via Steam's built-in controller remapping. Unfortunately this did not work out so well, as both my A and B buttons ended up having the function of both buttons simultaneously.

(Incidentally, if the team is considering a Japan release this will certainly come up during FQA..!)

I been playing it with my SNES 8Bitdo controller for the full retro feel. Overall I think the game feels best with a controller.

Not everyone has a qwerty keyboard.
The remapping is very useful for non-English people, but I understand that it is not the priority for a game playable with a gamepad.
