Steamdeck performance, please share your experience.
there is hardly any gameplay on the deck for this game, can someone share how it performs in terms of fps and power usage.

For example some games can eat allot of power, but with manual tdp adjustment its sometimes possible to get great battery and still maintain the 60fps.

Im curious what you guys have to say about this game on the deck.

Well it doesn't really run. Audio will play buy the image is frozen.

There is a work around by pressing the screen and then pressing the steam button.. releasing the screen and going back to the game it will work but if you touch the screen again you will have to repeat the process.

Because of this I haven't really bothered.

yeah thnx, i read about that, but there was nothing mentioned about the fps performance and power usage on the steamdeck.

I've had it running on Steam Deck perfectly fine for the most part. Some quick things to know upfront are the DRM stops the game from booting at start if there's no active connection, the game speed is tied to the frame rate (you HAVE to play this game at 60 FPS locked), and that booting the game is bugged.

As said above, to start the game when you hit the initial black screen, press on the touchscreen itself and hold while pressing the Steam menu you button. Let go of where you touched once the menu is open and then close the Steam menu. The opening sequence and credits should playback normally then. Whatever you do avoid touching the touchscreen again or else you'll need to repeat the above process.

I've run the game at its "Extra High" graphics preset at 1280x720, Deck settings as follows:
Scaling Filter set to FSR
FPS lock to 60
Both haptics & rumble off
Mid (value of 8-10 of 20) brightness
Usually near max audio (volume seems low in this game I think)
Wi-fi off (after booting obviously)
No HRS, TDP Limit, or GPU Clock Control settings active

Without some actual tinkering it's seems to be around 3.5-4 hours of battery time estimate, which is pretty decent. Tested up to the Vic Viper fight so far. Doesn't run too loud on the fans, temps usually 56-60C during active gameplay.

Thanks I was looking for this information to see if it was worth a buy. The DRM thing is kinda a killer for me a bit. Does this game require constant connection or just at the start? One more question would be if CLoud Sync works and achievements?

With more investigation into the DRM my guess is it seems to be looking for a token possibly. I have gotten it to work recently without a connection at boot, but when I was out and about my commute and trying to play it before it was definitely the DRM that halted me with a message. Basically if you played it recently with a connection it should have an offline validation token of sorts to allow it. I'm not sure how long this stays valid.

Cloud saves and achievements have no issues. As for updating earlier info, you can set the TDP limiter to anywhere in the 5-7w range and still achieve 60fps in my experience. If you decide to use the GPU limiter on top of that then you'll need to play with the TDP value more to accommodate it or the framerate will become unstable.

so do you maintain the 60fps majority of the time ingame, or does the fps dip frequently below 60fps to 40 or lower..?

It's very easy to achieve 60FPS in this game on the Steam Deck if you aren't choking the program too much via TDP limiting or GPU down clocking. Whatever you do, don't limit the FPS lower than 60 because the game was designed for exactly that value. Higher or lower than 60FPS influences the actual gameplay speed, so always leave the Framerate Limiter alone at 60 for this game.

Can confirm, plays awesome on SteamDeck. ZOE 1 & 2 were two of my favorite PS2 and later PS3 (Greatest Hits Collections) of all time. I run the game with Proton compatibility by habit and at 60fps ULTRA settings. I followed the first replliers instructions except I ran the game FIRST from desktop mode. There are some ifirst time running menus you have to mouse click through before the game will even boot. The resolution defaulted to 1080p and will make navigating to the game menus Display field to switch it over to 1280x720p. With some trial and error you can get it like I did; took me less than a minute to switch the game to the correct resolution and make it Fullscreen. There is the BLANK screen bug when you first boot into the game for the first time. Since you're in DESKTOP mode the first time, map the RIGHT trackpad as a mouse with the ENTER key as the pad's click down feature. There will be a pop up stating that there is no saved game file found. Mouse over the the prompt and click enter then the game will load. Now for the second bug... gotta love SteamDeck bugs lol. The videos will NOT play at first, they are paused by default. You have to touch ANYWHERE on the touchscreen and holdto get them to play. If you lift your finger the video image will stop playing but the audio will continue. You have to touch the screen to start the video THEN press the STEAM key, then while in the STEAM KEY menu, let go of touching the screen then click the STEAM key again to close the STEAM KEY menu. VIOLA!!! ZOE:The 2nd Runner running smoothly on your SteamDeck. :)

I would have to agree with this. Once I got past the first 3 screens:
  1. Language - English
  2. List of countries I could not scroll to choose US, so I chose Australia
  3. Chose OK on the User Agreement
  1. Black Screen which I applied the above fix
  2. Game started up normally
  3. Entered a save file from the cloud and it ran butter smooth and crisp.
