Patch for November 19, 2018: NVIDIA Adaptive Shading
A new patch has been deployed to implement NVIDIA Adaptive Shading, improving the performance of Wolfenstein II: Thew Colossus. We’ve been working with @NVIDIA to make sure the game runs great on NVIDIA RTX hardware. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus debuts the first implementation of NAS.

Additional patch notes:

  • Added support for NVIDIA Adaptive Shading on NVIDIA RTX series GPUs. (Improves frame rate by dynamically adjusting the shading resolution in different areas of the screen, without affecting fidelity).
  • Ensured that, on multiple GPU systems, the discrete GPU is preferred over an integrated GPU.
  • Players can now choose to ignore/suppress warnings when the selected video settings exceed the amount of dedicated VRAM available on the GPU
  • Fixes for skinning issues on GTX 970

GeForce RTX graphics cards support several new, innovative advanced shading techniques, that enable developers to further improve performance, and do things that were previously impossible. One of these techniques is NVIDIA Adaptive Shading (NAS), formerly known as Content Adaptive Shading (CAS). This adjusts the rate at which portions of the screen are shaded, meaning the GPU has less work to do, boosting performance. Factors like spatial and temporal color coherence are measured each frame, and in areas where detail remains unchanged from frame to frame, such as sky boxes and walls, the shading rate can be lowered in successive frames.

Congratulations, my installation wont start anymore after the last update. A blue Console-Window pops up with an errormessage and that's all. PC is a Ryzen 2700x with an AMD Vega 56 card and Windows 10/64.:steamfacepalm:

I have a blackscreen, but Sound is ok. GTX 1070

Everything is ok when Afterburner is turned off. I am pretty sure it worked before the update.

Same CRASH scenario on my rig after the update, before yesterday it worked fine. Significant line of the crash dump: "FATAL ERROR: CheckCodeResources: Resource error for renderProgResource:computeTAA = container entry defaulted - check that you have latest code and assets"

Rig: i7 - 4770 / Amd RX Vega 56 8G (on latest drivers)

What i already tried (several times):
  • Reinstalled game via steam, verified integrity
  • Amd Drivers reinstalled
  • cry a lot

Seems to be same issue as in thread here: Same discussion for the international version

After this update I cannot play this game anymore. After starting to play the game freezes after some moves in the submarine. Sound is still working. I hear some error sound from windows but I cannot get out the game back to windows. Only hard reset works. :-(

Rig: i7 - 6700 / GTX 1080 (416.34)

Now I got a solution for my problem, perhaps it help with your problems too. I started the game in window mode with 1920x1080 px. This works. Than I turned back to fullscreen mode with 2560x1440 px which still works. :-)
