Is it normal to graduate a virgin?
Jeez, somehow I got more action in real life than I did in this game.

Nah, after looking over one of the guides it's clear that every relationship has more failure points than anything else, and only a single very specific success path. So it's like a puzzle to solve by making the right choices, there is no room for roleplaying or trying to be yourself. Even the brofinder dates I went on were like that. I guess this is the way visual novels work, I don't have much experience with the genre.

By success path, you're talking about the "good ending." There are so many instances before the end where you can have sex with the different characters, though. There's also the brofinder dates where's there's minimal plot and you can get to the action quickly, if that's what you prefer.

I've played a good amount of the gay visual novels available on Steam, and this game is definitely one of the best when it comes to access to sex scenes.

It is uncommon, unless you are fond of your goldfish.

I've never graduated a virgin. Do the BroFinder dates. Also, have an "experience" with your fish that puts you in the ambulance with those twin EMTs. It is nice. Oh, and BroFinder date where you have an awesome elevator ride that includes two firemen.

To be a little more specific (fair warning: spoilers) my first run through I was interested in both Alex and Brad. However with Alex if you do not immediately go to play racquetball your second time at the gym it's over. You'll never get so much as a path forward with him again. With Brad it's even more obnoxious. I encouraged him to study honestly and take his schoolwork seriously but because I chose the middle option to do that, instead of pointing out that he could get injured playing football he was doomed to get a D on his term paper but I didn't find that out until the end of the semester where he blamed me and kicked me out. It's quite easy to tank the relationships through totally innocent choices. The game gives no warnings or second chances if you choose incorrectly. And on an initial playthrough unless you're checking the wiki you don't even know you made a mistake.

There's really two ways to play visual novels: go in totally blind and embrace the mistakes you make along the way, or follow a walkthrough. Pick your poison. Also, many visual novels allow you to backtrack so it's very easy to see the results and if you don't like them, just scroll back.

That's certainly the case with this game. I started playing Uncle Neighbor and it's night and day. You have to check the wiki if you want to 100% for the bad endings, because the romances themselves are easy to progress through. I also checked out a non-steam indie sci-fi VN called Stranded and it's almost completely on rails, not really possible to miss the story (excellent story though). So I now realize that VN's can be quite different depending on the intent of the author.

The main character canonically had sex at points before the events of the game so... no? lol
