a) After you switched to offline mode everything worked fine?
b) How fast is your internet connection
c) Do you have ghosts turned on, if so try turning them off and see if the loading between the levels decreases (it should even if you are online)
d) You can just try the online mode again I rebooted the VM that is hosting the Data maybe it was somehow slower than usual.
I will try to log in today evening and see if I can reproduce the problem. If none of the above help please write again, we should be able to find a solution.
Regards Niki
a. After switched to the offline mode I beat about 2,5 Worlds then the game closed all of a sudden. After that I couldn't pass through the first loading screen again. Also tried again after reading your reply no success :(
b. According to an online internet speed test my download speed is around 170 Mbit/sec and my ping to Frankfurt is around 20 ms.
c. Nope didn't used that feature once so far.
Btw, I started the game today and on first login the loading was pretty slow. I will change servers soon I hope this will make this problem go away. If not I will investiage more.
Regards Niki
Regards Flo,
What this means for you:
1. If you did not do it rename the original folder back to Will Glow the Wisp and delete the newly created one (this means you get your savegames back)
2. Try to start the game (it should startup in under 2 minutes [at least it did in my testing when I disabled the internet])
3. If for some reason the game does still not work afer these changes, please take a look into the Will Glow the Wisp folder, if any errors occured there should be a folder named "Exception" and inside there should be files which you can send me. This way I can analyze what is going on. This is another feature I added.
I hope everything works out now :)

The current update will log you in regardless of what happens after 90 seconds (this is a fallback if anything breaks I can't understand). At this point you will be automatically in offline mode.
I also set the timeout for each call to my backend to 25 seconds, which means that you should be logged in even before 90 seconds (in around 75 seconds).
If for some reason this does not work, you can first take a look at the exception folder again (in C:\Users\{your user name here}\AppData\LocalLow\PartTimeIndie\Will Glow the Wisp if you forgot from last time)
if that is empty wou will need to modify the registry (you need to open regedit)
Under Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PartTimeIndie\Will Glow the Wisp you will find the key TransmitData you should change it to 0 to stop sending data. This is the same thing that happens if you go to offline mode from the options (there was a bug before which might have switched you to online again :/ )
I hope everything works out without going through the Registry.
Sorry for the inconvenience

Someone else ran into the same problem and he was able to fix the problem by deleting all registry entries (should be this HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PartTimeIndie). Hope this will help you as well
Regards Niki
It seems that I’ve not reached the point where the game has been able to create the files in AppData and the registry keys mentioned, because I see nothing there
