Paladin Build?
So I want to try and be a holey warrior but I'm not really sure how to build my Paladin. I want to be able to dish some damage but not be skill lacking so I can benefit my group in camp / etc. In your opinion - what is a good stat spread, race, or any multi class dipping? THANK you for the help

I'm a bit biased because it's one of my favorite classes, but if you want to be a divine warrior and still have skills, Inquisitor is the bomb. Basing on a tabletop build I played, I took martial weapon proficiency for my first feat and am going to town on people with a great sword. Have a friend that built a great sword and shield Inquisitor relying on solo tactics, but you probably couldn't perfectly replicate that in the computer game.

Go with Persuasion and Perception (not a class skill, still great).

Melee: Regular Paladin (first option)
Angelkin Aasimar (but Human, Half-Elf, or Half-Orc is fine if you want other RP)
STR > CHA > CON=DEX
focus on Falchion (crits are OP when you're smiting)
get standard Melee feats like Power Attack, Furious Focus, Weapon Focus, and then also Cornugon Smash (free intimidate, why not)

Ranged: Divine Hunter (one of the achetypes) <- I'm playing this right now in the Varnhold DLC
Musetouched Aasimar (but same as above)
DEX > CHA > STR=CON
focus on Comp Longbow
get standard ranged feats like Precise Shot (free), Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, Deadly Aim, Improved Precise Shot, Weapon Focus, etc.

I'm a class purist. Maybe you can do something fancy, but just staying Paladin is good. With an Aasimar you can get, for the Melee after racial;

18, 14, 12, 10, 8, 18.

18, 14, 14, 10, 10, 16 if you prefer to have no negatives.

I played through game with basic paladin with shield bash (TWF), Perfection and Ravenna's Oath lategame (which in the end had +43 to hit in left hand and I still don't understand how it works). That was when Holy Sword (4th level spell) stacked with everything meaning +5 to hit and damage even to already magical weapons (still works well on animal companions though). Now that they fixed it, paladin's spellbook ends up so kinda mediocre that I would probably pick Guardian because at least you get a few extra feats and +4 to AC to a friendy. Stuff that you think you want like Challenge Evil has an actual saving throw in them so you end up spamming 1st level spell for +3 Luck bonus.

The most obvious build would be STR + two handed weapon + power attack and yeah maybe intimidate in it too. The weapon bonding you try to mix together with weapon to have keen, holy & axiomatic and maybe flaming on top. Don't forget UMD for wands of true strike, lead weapons and shield.

Mark of Judgement is amazing when it works, troll boss in HATEOT died in a single volley.

Also some great roleplay, like beheading slavers and criminals and just going on holy crusade against evil and stuff.

I think in this game even Rangers are a bit higher tier than Paladins, sadly. Just more options.
