Hmm... certain location... Shrike River, maybe? >_> I've been getting those weird 'dream sequences' when I rest sometimes, preventing me from shedding Fatigue. But... is that also causing me to rapidly become Fatigued when I DO manage to get a decent night's rest? >_> Geez. Okay, guess that particular side-quest gets prioritization, though I hope there's nothing waiting there that my unspectacular Level 3 party can't handle.
I would appreciate more hand holding as someone that doesn't play games like this, and someone who doesn't know 3.5e very well. I'm literally reading every tool-tip that comes up, but I have no idea what debuffs you're throwing at me or why sometimes.
The spider combat you're sent to at level 1 is insane too. Monsters that require AoE to hit (a tiny spider that is IMMUNE to a MACE. Please be for real, if you can kill a small bug with a shoe you can with a MACE)!? Perm debuffs until next rest because of combat? Insane to throw that at a lvl 1, especially one who is trying to figure out what to do in combat.
I wouldn't throw this at any level one party unless it was a hardcore campaign with experienced players. Is that what you're assuming I am? Is that the "Normal" combat difficulty? Being encumbered and unable to move and not knowing how to fix it because of the spider strength drain?
They also explain combat rules to you a little at a time, sometimes AFTER already having experienced something... This game looks so fun! But I can't enjoy it while I keep getting punished for just PLAYING THE GAME.
It really was just a tiny area with a quick conversation. I'm about done with this. This could have been an email, there's not even any lore reasons. Have him tell us in the dream, then AFTER we do the thing WE WERE GOING TO DO ANYWAYS, give us exhaustion.
I've McLost it.
The game is not great at helping the player understand what to do, but the spiders are not really one of them (there are plenty though)
- You are given fire flasks
- there is a message about the spiders
- the spiders are AFTER the quest item so are intended as an optional extra fight
Second proper time (discounting early aborts) I went there early and spoke to the zombie guy, killed the Stag Lord, then went back again later when I remembered it existed (some time in Chapter 3) and handed the quest in.
I wouldn't even know what the "Nightmare" stuff was all about if people didn't keep talking about it like it was some sort of urgent issue that needs to be solved.
