I played all weapon with all character for make all masteries but in the end i played a lot sword, spear and boomerang/bow.
Edit : hou just remembered how the axe was ultra cool !
I just hope they fix the charge-up system. It really felt like a pain most of the time; a lot of the charge-up attack animations were just stupid, both graphically and practically, in that they took forever, struck in meaningfully poor ways, and no matter how many times the attack animation actually connected, you could only hit any given target once - if you hit. There's nothing more painful than charging up to level 8 only to whiff - and then be left wide open as your character performs a silly rain-dance for the better part of five seconds.
Secret of Evermore did things better, IMO, but I think they could do better still.
Which isn't to say the boy should get magic - but then, he'd already have an advantage in not needing to ignore an otherwise-useful stat. Heck, they could just give him like, really rapid weapon charging to compensate.
Yeah, weapons which inflicted statuses were almost always so good you felt bad upgrading them, because you got a number bump but lost hard CC.
