Where are the good news?

Most assume this will fix the stuttering issues just because it would revert the game essentially back to being like v1.25 but still being able to play the Ardyn DLC. I think they will also be removing Denuvo with this patch as it was removed from FF XII in the patch last month so it would make sense they are waiting for this patch to do the same here.
Old news
I thought it was supposed to all be done on june 2nd. Damn, still gotta wait until 24th then.

I assume Comrades. I think anything online is getting cut.

This. As written, it essentially means that Origin version users will no longer be able to form random parties for Comrades (AI will still be available). Steam version users will still be able to do so, but will only be able to include other Steam version players in the party (I honestly didn't even know that cross-platform was a thing in Comrades before).

Avatara (Comrades-like custom player avatars in single-player), player "ghosts" in single-player, and all the online treasure/photo stuff in single-player is being removed. This is good as these are the things that cause the worst of the stuttering/hitching (there may still be some after, just as some people had some before they were implemented, but it should hypothetically be a lot less severe). Also bad because there are people that actually like their custom avatars and this aspect has the smallest performance impact caused by that update.

It looks like Timed Quests in single-player will still be running (since they're not actually an online thing, just something whose access has been bound to the local system clock, and have been part of the Windows version since the beginning).

Wake me up when they make the Ebony Editor and give a damn about their consumers
Subbing to the thread. If the update does remove Denuvo or fixes the stutters - please let the rest of us know.

Despite personal opinion, I doubt cutting it will improve performance on my crap device, but I'd love the chance to bump my graphics setting up a notch!
One of the great added benefits of higher graphics setting is that it will exacerbate the memory leak so your game will crash sooner.

I havent touched comrades yet, is it worth it?

I dont know. For me once combat starts the fps dropped from 60 to 5, then outright freeze, 1 quick screen update, then the AI teammates celebrating the monsters death. So I guess something happened. Ive since happened to upgrade from i5-6600k to an ryzen 3600 and i can actually fight, but its choppy. And it may be "minor" but your name floats over your character and it seems the framerate on that is even worse, or just looks funny.

Nowhere in there does it say that comrades is getting removed.

Nowhere in the patch notes did they say they would add a lot of stuttering and choppiness after 1.26 either.

I'm going to miss Avatara though. Replacing Noctis avatar with an avatar was cool.

Will mods still work?

Agreed. No idea why they needed to tie the treasure and ghosting into it. Nor why they couldn't just make an offline version of it.
