You disappointed me in SO many levels
Dear Sega, giving a high price to games was a common thing with EA, Nintendo, Sony and all the big corporations, but you did it as well and with the most uncreative, souless game I have ever seen.

Anybody who doesn't see this money grab coming from kilometers are clearly blind. You need to check out no man's sky because this game is the little brother of NMS, aka a pure scam.

I watched many gameplays and saw the level design, it is so unique (sarcasm intended). It is obvious that the devs didn't develop the level design and just thought (♥♥♥♥ it, anyway everyone will like the game even if the levels are repetitive and uncreative as heck).

At first I thought that the custom character was a great idea, however I start to think sometimes that it might be like the custom character is here not because Sega wanted to implement a hero customisation system like for most RPGs (I'm obviously pointing Fire Emblem, South Park and many others), but just to bring attention to their game so it gets sold even more. It is being advertised as a possibility to create thousands of different characters, but even that you couldn't do it right. You can't just advertise a way and do it the other way around. You start the game with a very limited variety of clothes and sets for your custom character, make it clear since the beginning because it is just a good way to trick customers into buying your products when it's not what they expected. You basically spoil them which is an♥♥♥♥♥move.

Seriously what have you done Sega, I loved Sonic Generations and Lost Worlds and both were REAL Sonic games made with an actual will.

Even if 06 was terrible, the developpers WANTED to make it be the most perfect Sonic game, the game just happened to suck due to continuous events. Sonic Forces is not even trying to be pleasant and an actual game. It is a money grab which is more obvious seeing how it is twice more expensive than your average Sonic game.

Unless you drop the price and release a patch to improve the game, I'm not ever gonna touch that stupid scam of a game Sega.

Ps: Yes I'm♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥before you ask.

This is a high priced game? And Generations was not even worth the 60 bucks. That game left a bad taste after it ended. Yeah it was different and fun at first until I realized it has almost no replayability unless you like 100%ing the dumb challenges. And when I did replay stages, I only chose Rooftop Run and City Escape. Green Hill Zone too, I guess. But that gets boring after awhile.

SA2 had Chao to force me to replay stages, but it was fun literally abusing the physics in that game.

Also comparing this to No Man's Sky is pretty damn funny. Because the game is actually now a good game with all the free updates they did. Major overhaul.

tbh, Yes, the Level design is kinda meh,Specially on Eggman Empire Fortress Levels... there they dropped the ball hard... like they decided: we give up... camera so far away i can't even see my avatar most of the time... and Sonic's Most feared nightmare: AUTOSCROLLING,tan taaan taaaaan..... and i'm not talking auto-scrolling in a speed section like a mach-speed stage, oh no... i'm talking auto-scrolling like a super mario game in a classic sonic stage, in a game where time is all to go to the global rankings.

one thing i think that is,it is because the guys who made forces is an entirely new team, and have zero experience... the only returning faces here are the dub-studio,Iizuka as lead designer and the Story Writer who wrote for... surprise,surprise... Sonic 06 only... yes it is Sonic team, the same team that brought us Generations,Lost world and Collors, but i would say a Different New division of the Sonic Team. remeber that they have 4 teams inside Sonic Team now:

team A
(Original Sonic Team: Responsible for Adventure 1 and 2,Heroes,Sonic part of 06,Unleashed day-time sections,Collors,Generations and Lost world),
team B
(Dimps Sonic Divison: Responsible of Shadow part of 06,Secret Rings,Dark Knight, and in part of the handheld games like Generations 3ds, and Lost world 3ds)
team C
(Mobile Division: Silver part of 06,Unleashed Night time Sections,Sonic Boom,Sonic boom 3ds,Sonic boom Fire and Ice, and responsible for the mobile division, like Sonic Runners and Sonic Dash)
team D
(Hardlight: the Junior Divison Responsible for: Sonic Forces, and that with time it will replace team A since a lot of Team A guys are to retire in 5 years time).

the game isn't terrible in my opnion... it is quite enjoyable. but i gotta agree that the last level ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t, the controller issues and FPS debacle on AMD hardware is what is killing this game to me. i wanna recommend, but i cannot untill it is patched to work correctly.

Team D isn't a bad team... they just need more experience, and to listen more closely to the problems we are having with the game. also, and this is just me, i think Yuji Naka should return and replace Iizuka for one or two games just to give the boost team D needs to hold on to its own.

Most new games are $60. This game is only $40. You don't have to like the game, but it's hardly a rip-off.

At least it doesn't have microtransactions.

exactly. this game is good. it just needs a patch to fix technical issues... as i said all new teams have these kinds of stuff when they start. that doesn't mean you should give lee-way... but don't discard the game all togheter.

Not sure what the pricing looks like in your part of the world, but in the US Sonic Forces is a full $20 below typical MSRP for a new game.

I think that comparison is more than a bit of a stretch. To my recollection, No Man's Sky promised things in the game (on the Steam store page and otherwise) that were simply not there and was $60 at launch to boot. Though I can't say I've followed Sonic Forces meticulously during pre-launch, nothing I've seen (or haven't seen) indicates that Sega was attempting to mislead potential customers with this release.

I'll agree insofar that the customization elements are definitely a bullet point towards promoting sales of the game. However, Forces isn't an RPG and was never purported to be one. It's a modern Sonic platformer with some character customization elements added. Since it represents the first attempt at this within the franchise (to my knowledge) there are bound to be things that could be cited as lacking, underdeveloped, not fully fleshed out, etc. To compare this with the often times ultra-deep character creation elements of established RPGs is quite unfair in my opinion.

This wouldn't be the first game I've played where additional character clothes, body parts, expressions, gestures, et. al. become unlocked as one progresses through the game. Some devs may choose to give you everything (or nearly) at the beginning, but it's not a hard and fast rule. From the games I've played, they typically do it the way Forces does it here. Nonetheless, I don't think there is anything inherently wrong in this regard.

It's interesting you mention Lost World, as that game was very polarizing not just with the modern Sonic fanbase, but with gamers in general. Actually, I recall many of the same complaints you're leveling at Forces being the same (or perhaps a bit worse) as those in regards to Lost World upon it's release.

I wish more people would simply vote with their wallets as you've suggested. Low sales (particularly at release) will get a developers attention far more quickly than potential buyers posting laundry lists of complaints that chronicle what they've seen/heard/read about a game that they don't like.
