TRAVEL RESTRICTED (FedSuns,CapFed and so on)
Anybody knows if the travel restrictions go away if you have enough reputation (Liao for example)?

The travel restrictions are in place because it would look bad if you went into another major factions territoy while doing the liberation campaign. You characters mention this in a text box early on "It'll look like we're cut and running", that's the reason stated for them being blocked.

Unless I missed something even when you "unlock" the map you dont go into anyone else space except Perh and the AC. No Laio, or other kingdoms.

maybe the starting house you choose for your own character for the campaign is also another factor as well.

My guess this (and possibly the rest of IS) will be a DLC if sales are high enough to warrent it.

I guess you are right since i have the highest reputation with House Davion now and still cant travel through FedSuns (still working on Liao but i think it's useless).

I hope they are bugfixing right now and come up with new DLCs later this year, i love this game!

I presume everyone is able to travel into Taurian Concordant territory? Reputation is indifferent with a rating of 5 for Taurian Concordant. Week 46 day 3. Don't know why I can move into their territory, I just can.

Maybe after you finish with the main campaign those areas will open up. Or maybe they open up during the campaign

First story mission gets you out of your little 4 system hole and opens up the frontier to you. Second mission opens up the Taurian Concordat to you. Third story mission alters the map borders enough that you can reach the Taurian/Fed Suns border area without flying to the bottom of the map and taking huge amounts of money/time.

I’m assuming the next will make more space available/easier to access as well.

Distance is irrelevant when you have jumpships

No, no it’s not. A jump ship can only travel so far per jump (I believe it’s 30 LY), has to recharge between jumps, and charges you a per jump fee. Literally every time the travel line bounces off a system on the map when you plot a course is another jump with the associated fee and recharge time,

From Sarna.net:
Jumps:
The origin and destination of a jump can only be a jump point, although the destination may be any jump point within range, even very close. It is a well-known (but rarely executed) maneuver, for example, to jump from one of a star system's standard jump points to the other. The maximum jump range for K-F drives is held to be 30 light-years, although accidental misjumps have been known to move ships across hundreds of light-years, and possibly much more, in a single jump in rare instances. Experimental drives exist that may jump longer distances than 30 light-years, but none is technically mature enough to be entirely safe to use.
Recharging:
In this way, the jump drive can be recharged in six to nine days depending on the spectral class of the star. An alternative to the Jump Sail is to recharge the drive with the ship's power plant, but the delicate machinery of the K-F drive does not tolerate such treatment well.

right now i'm getting close to kick Espinosas ass i guess...don't know how much story missions there are but i've done a ton of missions for Davion in the Taurus Concordate, very hard but short and with big payouts or good salvage (about 1.5 million credits per mission and i have a full lance of assault mechs thx to the salvage).

Spoiler!!! :P

Ok, just to let everyone know...after you've finished the story, you can travel to the restricted areas and go for some cash.
