English patch finished!

Starting a full eng patch translation for this game.
Working with the old version atm (testing phase).
But will move to Steam version when it's done. Anyone interested ?

PS I can't create a new officer, it tells me 'name contains unusable text: 582''. Do you know why is that??

Yes it's a known issue for a long time. I updated the way to fix it. Reread the blog.

Thank you for this excellent translation! I do encounter one bug at the moment... When playing 189ad scenario as officer Guo Jia, I joined Cao Cao at Chen Liu, then let events play out... Once it gets to suppressing remnants of Yellow Turbans event, the game keeps crashing. I tried several saves and re-starting, and keeps happening. I absolutely love what you have done, however, and hopefully, it will get more people playing this classic, with PUK!!

Yeah, I dont have time to test all the scenario. I found some crash most of it due to long name. Pls provide me the save before crash happen. I will check it. Thanks.

I haven't test it yet. If you already bought the steam version, install in chinese langugage. Copy the patch into the game folder.

Hi,

Downloaded the game and english patch, works perfectly and the game is exactly as i remember it all. Tried installing the vietkey but even with admin rights it won't extract it to my pc. Is there another possible tool that could be used instead or another way to input names for created characters?

Update, Got it to install but now it won't run, tried all the combat modes with admin rights, but not coming up on screen. Says in task manager that its running but its not appearing on screen. Any suggestions?

The tool (vietkey) is very old , outdated, it's from 2007 I believed. So it may not work as expected (since windows update alot). If you want to create custom general. There is a better way for that. I have a tool that can create the custom general file outside of the game, then we can import the general file into the game. But if it's the problem naming the child, we really need a tool that can type chinese characters.

I bought the game on steam and copy pasted the patch. It works but you can't create a custom officer however and there are random numbers/letters everytime a dialogue box ends.

Yeah i was trying to create a custom general since i love that feature in Romance games. Could you share with me the tool you have or let me know on what needs to be done to create the general i'm intending etc.

Yeah, naming a child ingame is definitely the biggest struggle of playing the game. But that's to be expected with a game over a decade old and only programmed to input chinese or japanese. That would be something only Koei could change and they are very unlikely to ever patch the game into english with their tedious record.
