I think the only way this can be a viable challenge is to make it possible to heal the individual champions or make the damage way less. Not even increasing the champions maximum hp with potions will offset it. Currently there are only two champions who're able to heal, both have an inherent issue with their design - they're unable to heal themselves.
In my opinion, this challenge needs to be redesigned or the very least heavily modified.
I did that challenge immediately after I did the first challenge in the area. I had gotten to around level 75 or so in the first challenge, so I didn't have extremely low favor, but it was by no means high. Maybe 500%;
The first couple levels were tough. Bruenor would die, and level 1 would start over. Bruenor would die again, and level 1 would start over again. I'd get Celeste, Celeste would die, then Bruenor would die, and level 1 would restart again. Once I got Nayelli, and had 3 champions, I had many fewer problems. Even if one of them died, the other two could generally beat the level. If not, I was able to get through the level on the second try. By the time I finished level 5, I had no problems with the rest of the campaign. Some of my heroes died, but not enough to seriously impact me. Combined with Celestes healing, once I got it, fewer of them died. If I had bothered leveling up my click damage, at all, I probably would have made it through the first couple levels where I had issues without much problem either.
The more heroes you have, the less likely it is for any of them to die, because the boulders fall randomly on one of them out of all of them. Unless you're purposely going slow to increase gold find, by the time you have 4 or more heroes, you can finish most levels before anyone dies. I don't think they need to rework the adventure at all.
