Simple Steam Deck question
I just tried opening a MP lobby and uh... the game said something about EAC not being present, that I was playing a dummy client or something of the sort?

This is a pretty old game by now, so I'm not shocked that they didn't update EAC to work on the Deck. But I just want to confirm that there's no way to play online on the Deck at all? Or might there be a workaround?

That's it basically.

Same thing happens on Alicization Lycoris, in which you can only play the game in single player mode due to eac.

That said, you can always use the hacked launcher workaround, you just won't be able to play with other people that have the eac client.

Just search around a tutorial on youtube how to enable mods for the game and apply the workarounds for proton if you gonna bother.

look I don't have Steam Deck but on PC to use multiplayer mods for example the one to create rooms of 15 ... You change the name of the EAC file to use them online, if you can do the same on Steam Deck, try to do it. You can look for a tutorial on how to use mods online and of course you only do the part to disable EAC

Ah, cheers. I wasn't looking to playing with anyone as the netcode is such a mess :sadbs: MP was unplayable the few times I tried. I'll look into that, thank you!

As cringe as it sounds, playing with people without eac actually improves the connection quality to console levels as long as the person hosting is on the same net region and using the same fps cap.

Massive monkjap dev moment for using unreal engine even.

anyway, good luck and have fun there.
