Portal 2 still doesn't work

I purchased Portal 2 during the summer sale and I can't even play the game. Even after the latest update portal 2 refuses to open. Any help?

maybe you installed it wrong try reinstall it should of work

I have an AMD processor and Windows 7 OS as well and mine does reletively the same thing(says Preparing to open" or whatever the popup is and then nothing happens), maybe there's something wrong with using those in combination that keeps portal from opening?

I'm not sure if a thread from 2014 is going to help you with that
