SLI support
usually VR games don't support SLI, but I am actually noticing a huge improvement when I turn on SLI with gtx 980's.

I think maybe its because they took a game originally in 2d and made it VR, instead of being VR built from ground up which didnt have SLI support.

VR does not support SLI.

It can, but it's a pain in the butt and about 3 games support it (mostly Croteam titles and a few tech demos).

I know that, but in Skyrim VR in particular I get a performance boost with SLI enabled oddly.

Saying VR doesn't support SLI is just misleading. Serious Sam titles all support it for sure.

Well, my bad then. I had been away from VR for several months so maybe that changed. But I researched a lot and found nothing on it except that VR does not work in SLI and I don't own any games that it will work with.

Dylan, I just saw your comment here.
What kind of improvements are you seeing there? I just ordered a second 1080 and it'd be great if it added something to Skyrims performance

With a 1080 you should already have max performance out of Skyrim VR, I'm surprised if you still felt wanting.

But anyway I noticed less stuttering in high density areas, and less weirdness going on at the edge of the lenses far left and far right sides.

Depends. I have a 1080 ti and anything above 150% SS gives me all sorts of frame drops and FPS drops. Also had to remove the ENB mod, that thing seems to be a GPU killer.

Kinda why I'm patiently waiting for the 1180 to come out, I haven't upgraded GPU since January 2014 when I had gtx 780 ti's, but evga upgraded them on warranty to 980 since they stopped working.

Friend from work had to uninstall ENB and a few mods because he was having frame drops / issues with preformance. we both have the same mods installed. identical rigs except for case, HDD brand and i use two 1080 ti. he swears its because i have SLI that my preformance is buttersmooth. IMO i think its the Nike case that i use.

ENB will smoke your GPU on this game, trust me. I hve a 1080 ti and it causes massive frame drops and loss of FPS, which is very bad in VR.

Not sure how having SLI could help you, the game doesn't support SLI.

Yeap, had to double check and show him that it can't be my SLI.
Has to be the nike case that gives me perfect preformance.

Thanks Dylan.
I'm currently running in High but had to place SS at 1x, I couldnt improve it with my actual rig. And forget about cool mods, it made the game very laggy.
As I already ordered my Vive Pro, I thought it was a good moment to upgrade the graphics too (more resolution = less performance?)

«ÐKG»Kimberly-696- I dont know how a case could help you with better performance... I still think (hope?) SLI is doing something there, maybe through SteamVR?

Today I got my Vive Pro and the second 1080 card.
After testing it I can safely confirm that SLI does make a huge difference. No more stuttering and I could increase SS without any performance issues.

I dont know why but it helped a lot, even at a higher resolution as the one in the Pro headset.

I'll try another titles but for now it has been a great experience.
