Check your ESM files. I had to remove the DLC ESM files because it would stop it from launching. My guess is I put one of the wrong ones in there.

If the Fallout4Custom.ini in mygames/Fallout4VR contains an invalid entry (like
[SaveGame]
iAutoSaveCount=X

where the user failed to replace the X with an integer after a cut and paste), it will cause Fallout4VR to crash to desktop at the moment it should start playing the first intro video.

The "Sim Settlements Conqueror mod" will crash it on startup. It depends on some workshop mod (found on Nexus) which F4SE VR reports as incompatible with current version. After disabling this mod it works. I tried it without the workshop mod (.esm) but it will still fail.

It runs well, but you do need power. I'm not sure if I will play it since I've never been a fallout fan, but I'll try and force myself in the hope that I'll get into it.

If you do follow this guide you will need version patch checker mod too, or you will have severe graphical errors with the "Previsibines Repair Pack".

You've never even played a Fallout game, yet you have Sim Settlements and Visibines packs installed? It's like remodeling a house you've never laid eyes on.

Get rid of every single mod and just play the game. It's amazing. Don't even think about mods again until you've ran all the way through the 100% vanilla main story once.

This is terrible "advice". The game is barely functional without mods.

Seconded. I did play the original pancake game on release, it was so boring that I put it down for several years. Sim Settlements + VR was what brought me back to the game and Ive not stopped playing it since

This was my experience also. I had a great time with just the base VR game. I think that never having played pancake version was a big factor in letting me enjoy the VR version without finding fault with UI, gamelplay mechanics, etc. Subsequent playthroughs I am using mods and DLC but I am glad I didn't know about that stuff the first time.
