Odd FPS drops?
Someone has this issue? My Computer is powerful enough to run this game. Yet sometimes frames seem to drop i think it might related to smoke but it's not really possible to reproduce. FPS Counter Stays at 60fps when it happens but it feels just aweful stuttery.

I'm experiencing something similar. The screen will completely freeze for 1 or 2 seconds very frequently. I have tried disabling vsync, lowering graphics settings, but it still randomly stutters and freezes. Changing from full screen to windowed doesn't help either.
specs:
AMD FX 8350 4 GHZ 8 core
16GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 1070

Same. Steam's fps counter keeps at 60 at all times, but I'm sure it drops well below that at some point, especially in Ocean World.

Exactly. Game feels really stuttery at that moments just like 30-40fps but the FPS counter is basically nailed to 60fps. Tracks seem random though. First i observed it at the Temple track. It also stops later when you keep driving.

Maybe its a frametime issue due to Vsync?

Same with me and my 290x in 1080p.

Great game anyway! :-)

I bought the game Minutes Ago went through the First Cup and yeah there are a lot of Spikes with the Frametime. The Stuttering is present but still the game is playable. Anyway it doesn t feel "round" while driving even it is for a few seconds. A patch should help. I am Running it in 1440P with an old i5 3570K and an Geforce GTX Titan 2013. Its an old Rig, but should be still enough for games like this one. Besides the technical issue, its an ode to arcade racers back in the early 90's.

Vsync on or off (have a freesync monitor), I get very rare but noticeable stutters that probably just shouldn't happen on my i9-9900k & 2080 combo with 32GB RAM.

Now that I look in MSI Afterburner I only see frametimes fluctuate at a max of 2ms variance, so I'm wondering if it's just a quirk of the game's camera or something that makes it look like a frame is being dropped.

You have a fx8350 but a gtx 1070? WUT that CPU is giving you awful performance

Oh no, I noticed this as well. Sumo's previous game, Team Sonic Racing, also had framerate problems on the PC version. I hope this game doesn't suffer the same. At least this game is a lot more fun.

I had weird stuttering/framerate problems running in borderless windowed mode, but they went away as soon as I switched to fullscreen.

Running a Ryzen 3600/GTX 1080 Ti system, so definitely not a hardware spec limitation.

so bizarre isnt it, having the same issue. running a ryzen 3600x & an amd radeon 5600xt.

at 1440p my steam fps counter was fluctuating from anywhere from 300 to 600fps. so i put a hard cap on at 144fps and now it says im getting about 100 - 144fps. i cant tell whats causing the stuttering whether its just bad frame pacing, dropped frames or a lack of consistency but theres something very off here

Try either running the game in a borderless window or using RivaTuner.

I'm on Geforce GTX 1060, and there are also frequent slowdowns. Given the fact that this happens to Nvidia and AMD GPUs I guess it's simply because:

- The game is horribly optimized
- The Engine used is simply not suited for fast racing games
- Some DirectX issue

Same here. Cannot get smooth gameplay neither with vsync or without. Even worse, sometimes the game logic seems to pause up to 3 seconds for no discernible reason.

It's probably engine related. I have the same issue on Team Sonic Racing that ran on the same engine IIRC. FRAPS always stays at 60fps, but there a noticable stutter on screen. Resolution also doesn't change anything, so it can't be GPU related.
