I was really excited about Greedfall until I actually got to play it. Apart from the graphics (which were good), it seemed cheaply made without much substance to it. The combat was clunky as well. I got a refund for it. Just goes to show you that you can't always trust cool-looking game trailers. Risen was a far far better game for it's time.

Borderlands 3, though a different genre, will no doubt be a 10 times better game than Greedfall.

Greedfall feels like Witcher, The graphics and level design seem pretty good. But unfortunately, the gameplay feels a little less than desired, however still decent. Playing on the hardest difficulty is still pretty easy, but makes the game worth while. The story seems interesting. Based on the level and depth to the game I would not say it is cheap at all.

Borderlands 3 will probably be atleast 20 hours of gameplay. Borderlands 2 was not much of a step up from Border lands 1

As a fan of the Risen series, and being I just started this, I have good feelings here. Combat is definitely more in-depth. I've been following Spider through every release, and they show marked improvement every time. Will this be a somewhat janky experience? Of course. Small team on a fairly small budget; but it has soul.

Spiders and Pyranhabytes share very similar design philosophy (and budget/team size). All I can say is maybe wait for a sale down the road, and stick it out a bit longer. The game may surprise you.

You can buy a buy a premium foot long sub for less than that from Subway or Quiznos. What a waste of money.

Clunky combat? I think you should get a better rig, or maybe not play while drinking...

And of course it's cheaply made, all games are. The less you spend, the more you make in the end...this game doesn't have a huge budget compared to a game like Borderlands 3.

But I assume you think a Mercedes is better than a Toyota because it costs more, despite every review saying Toyota is far more reliable and value for the money.

That's what this game is. Value for the money...but seriously, you should just play something else. Borderlands takes no skill or thinking to play. That might be why this game isn't for you.

I have a very powerful gaming rig, but Greedfall's combat mechanics are not intuitive at all. Maybe I'm spoilt after playing Soulsborne games, but this is not even in the same universe when it comes to combat mechanics. Even Dragon Age had far better combat and so did Risen.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Borderlands 3 and Greedfall don't have the same target market. It seems that playing as a gun crazed mercenary might be a tad different than playing as a colonial dignitary.

Borderlands 3 does have some RPG-ish elements to it. But either way, when it comes to fun-factor, mechanics, visuals, and overall game quality and polish, Borderlands 3 will no doubt absolutely trounce Greedfall.

I'm about 18 hours into the game and barely have done any main missions playing on Normal yet, last I heard someone mentioned there wouldn't be much side questing that was kind of wrong lol
