Curse of Dread Deck: Vendreads!
The Curse of Dread Mini BOX contains lots of cool Zombie-type monsters, and the Vendread monsters are some of the most powerful. Vendreads are a new Deck type introduced in the latest Mini BOX, which performs Ritual Summons to muster powerful monsters to the field. Check out how competitive PvP Vendread Decks work!

The Ritual Spells

Vendread Decks use the Revendread Origin and Revendread Evolution Ritual Spells to Summon their most powerful monsters. Both Ritual Spell Cards can be used to Ritual Summon any Vendread Ritual Monster from your hand or Graveyard.

Revendread Origin requires you to Tribute monsters from your hand or field, and/or banish Zombie-Type monsters from your Graveyard, whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon. As an added bonus, if Revendread Origin is in your Graveyard while a Revendread Slayer you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish Revendread Origin from your Graveyard to protect it.

Revendread Evolution requires you to Tribute monsters from your hand or field, and/or send a Vendread monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, whose total Levels equal the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon. The Ritual Summoned monster is destroyed during the End Phase of the next turn.

Since Revendread Origin and Revendread Evolution can both Ritual Summon monsters from the Graveyard and are flexible in the monsters they let you Tribute, they both make Ritual Summoning easier than usual.

The Ritual Monsters

Powerful Vendread Ritual Monsters make the Deck viable. The Level 6 Revendread Slayer, for example, has 2400 ATK and can gain 300 ATK during battle. In addition, if it’s sent to the Graveyard after it’s Ritual Summoned, you can add a Ritual Spell from your Deck to your hand and send a Vendread monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, allowing you to set up another Ritual Summon.

The Level 8 Revendread Executor has 3000 ATK and takes on the name Revendread Slayer while it’s on the field. In addition, while it’s on your field after being Ritual Summoned, your opponent can’t target any other cards you control with card effects. Finally, if it’s destroyed by battle or by an opponent’s card effect after it’s Ritual Summoned, you can add a Vendread card from your Deck to your hand to help set up another Ritual Summon.

Revendread Slayer and Revendread Executor both bring brute force to the field and allow a Duelist to recover if they’re defeated. Two of the other Vendread Ritual Monsters in the Curse of Dread Mini BOX, Vendread Battlelord and Vendread Chimera, can also be Ritual Summoned to overwhelm opponents.

The Effect Monsters

The Vendread effect monsters in the Curse of Dread Mini BOX let you enhance your Ritual Monsters by giving them new effects. Each of the low-Level Vendread effect monsters that you Tribute from the field to use in a Ritual Summon will make your Vendread Ritual Monster more powerful. Vendread Revenants and Vendread Houndhorde, for example, can give your Ritual Monster a Quick Effect that allows them to banish Special Summoned monsters and Spell/Trap Cards. Other Vendread effect monsters can grant your Ritual Monsters other effects to make them even more powerful.

The Field Spell

The Vendread Nights Field Spell Card lets you discard a card to add a Vendread monster from your Deck to your hand once per turn. Plus, when your Vendread monster destroys an opponent’s monster by battle, Vendread Nights lets you banish a Vendread monster from your Graveyard to attack an opponent’s monster again in a row. Vendread Nights helps you to amass the cards you need for a Ritual Summon and then use that Ritual Summoned monster to attack through an opponent’s field.

There are lots of powerful Vendread cards in the Curse of Dread Mini BOX. Those cards enabled Vendreads to emerge as a competitive Deck in PvP Dueling. How do you think a Vendread Deck stacks up against the other popular Decks in PvP Dueling?
