Sorprendentemente descubri este juego buscando ofertas en metroidvanias y desplazamiento lateral pero mas alla de todo lo que oferece en su encantador contenido y sus voces en japones, puedo recomendarlo por su simple jugabilidad e intensos combates contra los enemigos y jefes de cada zona.

O tambien una mezcla rara y bonita de Golden Axe/Magic sword/Dust... Es una joyita a medio pulir este juego.

>A grandes rasgos: Eres Vivian, una mercenaria que busca a su padre... la cual por medio de un accidente maritimo llega a una tierra desconocida, solo para embarcarse de nuevo a una aventura epica y brutal para desentrañar su misteriosa vida pasada.
El gameplay es una mezcla bien hecha de hack n slash con beat em up y un poquito de rpg en 2d con paisajes vistosos... y personajes vistosos 7u7

>Lo bueno:
-De entrada lo graficamente bonito que esta... todo es ilustrado y pues si no tienes problemas con los personajes antropomorficamente desproporcionados como en dragons crown (tetas y cul0s gigantes, o bien hombres con musculisimos 7u7) es todo un festin visual.
-El gameplay es retro... y a la vez no, es como un beat em up viejito, pero con skills actuales... y combos del genero hack n slash.
-La historia: es bipolar, de empezar como algo bonito, se torna a algo feo... el diablo D:
-Los bosses, van progresando conforme avanzas el juego hasta llegar a un final boss muy sublime.
-Rama de progresion tipo RPG: subes de nivel conforme matas cositas; desbloqueas habilidades y otro tipo de perks
-Tiene una duracion nada despreciable de 6-7horas... si no rusheas y sacas el verdadero ending unas 12-13horas dependiendo tu skill.

>Lo malo:
-Pues... es dificil verle mal a un indie que te da tanto por tan poco dinerito... pero ok tiene errores y los mas remarcables serian: la repeticion de enemigos, los niveles un poquito copy paste y que algunos bosses tienen el mismo patron de ataque.
-No hay tanta variedad de armas... solo son espadas.
-Puede ser repetitivo, para los que no les gusta el genero, o bien el grindeo.

Pues... es un juego con fallos, pero decente tirandole a bueno 7/10 para ser un juego indie chino (que llega a valer un dolar en descuento) que saca una historia de la nada con gameplay decente libre de fallos graves es un win 8/10 siempre y cuando no tengas problemas con la sobresexualizacion de los personajes... tanto mujeres como varones (como dije anteriormente el arte es tipo dragons crown, las mujeres tienen un cuerpo muy remarcado y los hombres igual)

In its current state, The Vagrant has a lot of potential and, even if the issues listed below aren’t fixed, I can still recommend it to most. This is an Early Access Report, meaning that the recommendation may or may not be changed after the game leaves its Early Access state.

Fast-Paced Combat

The Vagrant uses a two-button combo system--X and Y or J and K if you’re using a controller or keyboard respectively--and performing moves is based on the order in which you press them. A controller is recommended to play The Vagrant, but a keyboard controls adequately as well. Combos can be unlocked in the [abilities] tab by spending mana, which is dropped by defeated enemies.

Adding attacks to your roster makes combat more streamlined and as such, the game’s progression system is satisfying and effective.

Combat also utilizes special abilities that use Rage, which is accumulated when dealing and receiving damage. These are powerful attacks that can be unlocked in the abilities screen. One special attack can be equipped at a time, so choose the one that best suits your playstyle.

RPG Elements

These include equipment and an ability tree that substitutes/combines stat management and skill-point distribution. Equipment can be looted, bought, and crafted by smiths if you have the required materials.

Slots include weapon, armor, and accessory + passive bonus. Armor and weapons can be enhanced using mana to increase their base stats, and the upgrade limit is represented by stars.

The skill web is standard RPG fare where you have to unlock nores in a sequence to acquire stronger skills and larger stat upgrades. This web also functions as the leveling up system and you are free to build Vivian as you wish, tailoring her attack and defense to suit your play style while also unlocking and strengthening combos.

Metroidvanian-Style Exploration

Locations are divided into interconnected rooms, some of which require you to defeat a group of enemies before you can proceed.

You can move directly from where you are to the objective marked on the map or you can explore every room and hopefully get rewarded with loot for your trouble. Dead ends tens to hold treasure chests filled with gold, materials, and pieces of equipment.

Later in the game, you’ll be able to fast travel between campfires, which serve as places to save as well as to turn your raw produce into culinary delights.

Challenging Gameplay

Enemies are quick and aren’t above playing dirty. They’re particularly dangerous in groups as ranged enemies will dance behind stockier shield-bearing allies and shoot you without fear of retaliation.

They’re fast and you have to be faster, utilizing Vivian’s dodge and jump (a double jump can be unlocked in the ability web) to move out of harm’s way. Each enemy has its own way of approaching Vivian, and you’ll eventually figure out how best to deal with them.

Boss monsters in particular pose a challenge. These hulking monsters have multi-tiered health bars and pack a serious punch. Boss monsters have tells, so once you get their patterns down it gets a bit easier, but for every health bar you whittle down, they get even more ferocious!

An Elaborate World

The hand-drawn art is lovely, albeit a little gratuitous about its endowments, and the world is layered with characters who are interconnected in one way or another. Because there aren’t just your standard blank-faced NPC who only await your purchase, the world seems more believable and alive, which is a nice touch.

The music is also nice, though I haven’t come across anything that sent me scrambling to buy a soundtrack.


By the end of its Early Access stint, the game promises 6 chapters, polish (including a more functional translation and more supported languages), and more equipment and monsters. The developer is open to suggestions, so feel free to pitch in your feedback if you get the game early.

The price ($14.99) will not change between now and an estimated date of October 2017, so there’s no harm in waiting for the game to develop more before parting with your hard-earned buck


I've already posted these on the forums and the devs have acknowledged that there are improvements in the works--a definite thumbs-up in my book.

• Translation. The English in this game sounds as though it was taken straight from Google Translate. If your team needs help, I'd be happy to volunteer as I'm sure others would be as well.
  
  
• Knock down. Enemies can strike you after you've been knocked down, but you can't strike them after knocking them down. This not only slows down combos, it also feels cheap because you can easily be stun-locked by certain enemies. Either add the ability to hit downed enemies or take away their ability to take advantage of a downed Vivian.
  
  
• Traps. Just like with the above points, these effect the player but not monsters. So, of you're stuck in a place with monsters AND traps (something that happens on one than occasion), you're taking damage every time you try to dodge an enemy attack and vice versa. Make it so that traps also damage enemies to be fair.
  
  
• Difficulty needs to be lowered. I'm playing on normal andthe third boss and onward was incredibly difficult when the first two were manageable. I barely managed to defeat the skeleton boss after using ALL my items and I had all of my equipment at maximum enhancement. The bear boss following the skeleton king killed me before I could even blink.
  
  I'm not sure if this means I need to go back and kill enemies until I get enough mana to upgrade Vivian, but that doesn't feel like a natural progression.

.Bottom Line.
The Vagrant is a side-scrolling action RPG detailing the story of Vivian, a Runewarden turned-sellsword. While its English translation may not wow anyone, it’s gorgeous hand-drawn art style will.

Combat, while flawed in some aspects is fast-paced and solid while exploring an area completely will yield treasure. In all,a very solid entry into the action adventure genre and one that will get better over the course of its Early Access period.

I recommend this game to those who seek a challenge, enjoy a detailed story, and aren’t put off by the hit miss translation. The game’s main focus is combat and, if the hiccups are fixed, it would do a “flawless” job as the Store page promises.

Muy buen juego, le pusieron bastante dedicación a la historia y la jugabilidad es bastante buena (muy facil de manejar el personaje), se recomienda jugar con un control ya que con teclado se complica mucho la jugabilidad (es mi opinion)

Lo recomiendo para aquellos que le guste viciar un poco, el juego pide muy poco requisitos de la maquina por lo que cualquier tostadora le funcionara para jugarlo bastante bien.

Plenamente recomendado!!! un arte rico y basto, una jugabilidad simple y entretenida asi como dinamica , hacen entre estas y muchas cosas una excelente opcion y una compra no recomendada si no que exijida!!!!

Juegazo, lo adquirí de manera aleatoria al estar buscando juegos a buen precio que estéticamente me parecieran atractivos. Me recordó a varios juegos que he jugado anteriormente por la estética que tiene, por lo que lo adquirí, al momento de jugarlo me di cuenta que ofrecía bastantes cosas por el precio que tenía, una historia bastante buena, buen sistema de mejoras y en lo que más destaca es su apartado artístico, muy lindo. Sin duda un juego que merece la pena haber pasado al menos 1 vez.

Un excelente juego del genero Metroidvania, excelente jugabilidad, excelentes ilustraciones, excelente banda sonora y una jugabilidad muy fluida ademas de una historia entrañable, super recomendado, un buen juego por su costo, si eres fan del genero definitivamente debes tenerlo en la colección, suerte para los que se aventuren al modo muy dificil.

Simplemente Hermoso, El estilo artístico que tiene me dejó sin palabras, la historia hasta el momento no me ha decepcionado ni ha llegado a ser predecible, espero que al final no me decepcione. el único punto "negativo" es que tiene una mecánica de juego muy simple, pero al mismo tiempo esto beneficia a que te acostumbras rápido (sobre todo si estas acostumbrado a los juegos de plataformas) y no sufres mucho por la dificultad para que puedas disfrutar mejor la historia.

No te dejes llevar por los sobre-sexualizados personajes femeninos, The Vagrant tiene bastante que ofrecer. Los escenarios son muy detallados, así como los jefes. El sistema de combate, a través de combos, es placentero. La historia es sencilla y tiene buenas cut-scenes.

Lo compré no esperando demasiado, pero tengo que admitir que me llevé una muy grata sorpresa. Este juego está hecho con demasiado cariño.

- El arte es hermoso, tanto en los personajes como en los escenarios.
- El OST está muy bonito, varía bastante en su contenido, piezas tranquilas hasta muy enérgicas y movidas (los de algunos jefes son excelentes)
- El sistema de progresión está muy bueno, es hasta adictivo el farmear maná para ir mejorando a tu personaje
- Un personaje que se ve bastante bien, vamos a ser honestos, pero que también te va atrapando durante el transcurso de la historia. He de decir que recién derroté a algunos jefes, pero, con lo que he leído hasta ahora, me ha atrapado y quiero saber más de su pasado.
- Una historia bastante misteriosa, con algunos giros de trama desde el principio, nada mal.
- Jugabilidad fluida, ah si, es hermoso combear, se agradece que se pueda correr, dar doble salto e incluso, el combate aéreo es una joyita, se hace sentir poderoso/a.

Es un excelente juego, vale mucho la pena por su precio y si lo encontrás en oferta, mucho más.

Mi nota es un 9/10
