Gender neutral toilets
When SimAirport first came out I was pleasantly surprised to find gender neutral toilets. For whatever reason these have been replaced by a male and female variant of the perfectly functioning non-gendered toilets.

Could we please have the option for normal toilets back?

Are we conflating a Bathroom with the toilets that are inside of a Bathroom? Perhaps a semantic language use thing? I know in Europe they use the word "toilet" to mean what Americans call a Bathroom. Where in America we call the $h!tter you sit on a toilet.

So, do you mean Bathrooms instead of toilets? Because toilets are gender neutral, last I check anyone can sit on one but the Bathrooms are separated by biological reproductive gametes (aka sex).

But if you mean gender neutral bathrooms then that was simply a game mechanic not finished at the time (two years ago now) and now has been finished. Think about it, from a code and first principles pov, it makes sense that early builds of something be simplified so that you can streamline its integration. Slowly adding features and making it more robust as you go.

In other words, I don't think there ever was the intent to make gender neutral bathrooms, but instead, what you saw was an incomplete feature that you interpreted the intent to be gender neutral bathrooms.

Will the gamete bias be removed? That's up to the devs.

Gamete bias... you know, I don't think anyone has discriminated against literal eggs and sperm, but at this point I wouldn't be surprised, either.

I'm talking about what the game calls restrooms.

Whatever they're called, I'd like to see the original, gender neutral, implementation return. Be it alongside or in place of the current system.

Ok. Thanks for clearing that up. Cheers.
Hmmm, might be nice to have as an option...

I'd back this. :)

(Personally, I'd also like to see baby changing areas or bathroom objects if for nothing else than the variety and the realism.)

Considering what a modern airport looks like today? Yeah; that's called realism.

I mean, eventually, if the devs really want realism then yes. And be careful you don't insult people saying things like that...

The main goal of this thread is to get gender neutral restrooms re-implemented in the game--please open a new discussion if you want to discuss other restroom related tings.

Dear meraco, I'm not sure what you have against breast feeding areas. But I don't think a Steam discussion about gender neutral restrooms is the place to figure that out.

@Scifiwriterguy, thank you for the kind words! I think a baby changing object would make a lot of sense. Would certainly add variety of objects as you said.

I think you misunderstand,

I asked a question. I never stated that I was against anything.

Secondly, I find the entire post to be silly..

This is a top down 2D airport simulation. This isn't the Sims4, this isn't a modded out Skyrim. Its a bunch of walking heads making their way to and from the airplane.

And were lamenting over a his and hers washroom?

If you missed the humor in my question after realizing the insignificance of the topic discussion, then sadly some people are taking SimAirport way to seriously.

Please open a new discussion next time you want to know about future plans--it's impolite to hijack someone else's discussion.

If you don't care about gender neutral restrooms, fine; no one is forcing you to care about them, use them, or event think about them.

Now, rather than debating who cares about what, can we please return to the discussion at hand.

Yep,

you have fun with your simulated airport washrooms.

I have far more tangible games to play at the moment.
Wouldn't it be more progressive for the passengers to not have a gender at all then?
