When can we see a mage nerf or a rework to the rest of the characters to make them more meta? My whole guild besides me went to mage bard cause its just stupid powerful

while it is powerfull , it is only if you spend more skill.
any fighter like need 4 skill
mage like need 7 skill... which is 1 more than the cap if you wanted 100 skill each

in that way nothing keep you or any other '' class '' to include magic or bard skill in your build
saying mage skill are require to be effective is like saying healing is require to stay alive in all skill set even if you are a mage ( magic healing only is no viable )

Melee needs love. Period. Dot. The end

you dont really need channel with bard.

CS has not clue what they are doing. Most people played mages and realized its not OP and whined, CS has recognized the many people have issue and made mages OP (from their point of view, they fixed the issue that so many had). A result of doing something with no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue whatsoever. There were many constructive solutions proposed, but for that you have to understand own game and put a thought into the issue. CS can only communicate marketing and follow the whining. They dont know how to "hold it right", so they just react on peoples emotions who watch them doing it and then try different stuff randomly watching the reactions again.

Mages are fine. Just need to buff melee. They call melee the sustained damage profession but they cant survive sustained damage from most things worth killing. Dps Is so low. Especially if you calculate misses.

But that is exactly the problem we talk about. Exactly what has been nerfed, the damage.

can i ask a little noobish question? which 7? i though they need only channel, attunement, affinity and manifestation\evocation (can take both or skip one if you wish). which is 5 skills....no?

I guess he means healing and vigor? My mage has the 5 mage skills+ inscription, guess healing could be handy in pvp but mostly stuff dont get anywhere near me.

Now lets talk about a class that needs alot of skills, its sort of a fighter class and it needs alot more than 4 skills. A traditional rogue type of toon, lets see: Piercing, martial prowess, healing, vigor, shield(in want of dual, try being a melee in light armor w/o shield, its not fun), lockpick, hide, stealth, whops thats 8. Lets imagine that he could have all those skills, endgame he still would A: have less surviveability and utility than a mage, and B: do about the same damage as a mages poison spell ticks. What he could do tho is to hide out of sight and watch the others fight and he could farm mage reagents with his lockpicking.

well..healing can be substituted by manifestation. (you can drop one or the other almost safely)

as for rogue... they way i understand it Hiding and stealth are unfortunately useless waste of 200 points. even though they fit rogue character pretty well.
and lockpicking is mostly for treasure hunters (which will als o require fishing and other stuff...so you can safely remove them from rogue (though i'd add evoc for poison...fits pretty well)

Have it on good faith that there's a skill book coming for melees similar to spell/songbooks
Dreaming Prince Aug 23, 2019 @ 2:26pm
Just think a rogue character should have some sneaking and thieving skills else it woulde be more like a duelist or battlemage or something, tho theyre no use if youre dead

yes i mean healing and vigor because manifestation alone is not viable

if you get silence you cant heal
if you get bleed you cant heal
if you get poison you cant heal proprely
if you get hit you cant heal
if you dont have mana cause mana regen suck and you are oom after 3-4 spell even at 50 int you cant heal
magic heal take time to cast

so yeah you need bandage heal for the instant heal/instant cure poison. also bandage are way cheaper than reagent et can heal for almost 300 hp while greater heal doesnt come near that.

pvp you cant live without healing and vigor , pve if you face range / burst enemy too ( try facing spell caster shooting you Ebolt , specialy if there is 2-3 you wont survive long without healing+vigor )

fair enough. bet then again you don't need manifestation then (or you can drop it a bit) and use like 80-80 healing vigor.... to fit all skills in. (since it's a pvp char there is no need in crafting then)

The main problem is the hit accuracy of fighters, one has partly no 40% hit chance with bow or weapons, so the damage is ridiculous unlike the magician
So it's more like Legends of MISS

Just expect nerfs, they don't balance things properly. They just nerf or remove things that take the slightest bit of planning to balance. There's a reason theorycrafting and build meta for PVE and PVP is way more limited than it was at the end of CB2 even with the bard skills added in and profession crap. I wouldn't expected mounted combat back anytime soon either as apparently that was too hard to balance as well.
