i take free hunters and modify loadouts to guns i like using. haven't had money issues yet.
you need to build stable of hunters and realize the game is about surviving, optimally with bounties.
they are lost causes
This is precise af.
Look, about the gear you won't have any disativantage, 6 starts players rolls with nagants and winfields more often than not. The thing with the game is the need to be silent, so running where you imagine someone might be nearby, shooting needlessly, scaring away fauna, all this will impact your game.
This game is a very calm paced game, you won't encounter a lot of people out in the open(sadly), mainly bc the huge maps have only 12 people max(sadly).
New players just need to figure what is best for them.
Trust me, playing solo makes everything easier in this game.
A few tips:
- Crouchwalking is almost never useful if the enemy already knows where you are, it is purely for sneaking up on someone that doesn't expect you or avoiding setting off noisetraps/NPCs. It is *slow* and still makes noise, you are often just inviting the enemy to kill you with a headshot.
- You have access to every base gun at the start, you just need to get a little exp with it to unlock the variants. Variants aren't always better.
- Bring friends, or play with randoms. The game is not meant to be played alone, especially for new players. Solo might be an option but it's for people that already know how to avoid getting seen and heard, and then killed.
- This isn't Tarkov, gear is easy to get. If you've somehow blown all your money then you still have options, you can do a few rounds in Soul Survivor or you can just grind in Bounty Hunt by avoiding open conflict and only grabbing clues, mopping up mobs, maybe blowing up a meathead when you feel like the noise isn't going to get you in trouble. This new event even lets you trade the event marks for exp/money if you can find the objects to interact with at resupply or the sealed cache in the mine (occasionally in other places too but those are less common). Just be wary that the sealed cache especially is going to be a hot spot so either be ready for a fight or a quick retreat. Grinding is basically the primary reason for using silent weapons, they're not as good in a fight.
- I'm sorry the UI is somehow worse than before you joined but basically everything regarding gear is horribly confusing for new players at this point, you're going to have to look outside for now until you learn a bit more
The game is all about learning. Learn the strenghts and weaks of different weapons and their variants and you will be able to bite some butts as well. Use your enviroment strategicly, rotate, take attention to the sound and you will become a real hunter, no matter the gear :)
