Steam Session Authentication Failed, problem with contacting Steam

• Try restarting the Steam. This can happen when Steam is confused about if the user is Online or not, and also can generate invalid tickets.
  
• If it's your first launch, check if your Steam nickname has special characters and remove them. Steam nickname is used to register at the first launch so the server might have trouble with them. After the first successful launch, you can use your old nickname again.

Game does not launch on Linux

• Game is shipped with the .so files, they might not fit to your environment perfectly. Mostly it solves by renaming the libm.so.6 to libm.so.6.disable. Then try, if it does not work, rename libstdc++.so.6 file to libstdc++.so.6.disable. Try again, if it doesn't work again, try this for other .so files too, a combination of them would work.

Game does not launch on macOS

• Try different resolutions in your macOS display resolution settings.
  
• One player reported that changing from 1470x956 to 2560x1664 solved the issue.

Game does not launch on macOS High Sierra

• Game is compiled on Catalina 64 bit. If your OS is 32 bit, game won't run. I couldn't find the reason why wouldn't it run on 64 bit High Sierra. Please let me know if you find a solution.

Game does not launch

• Disable Steam Cloud, remove editor.cfg, save.rond, settings.cfg from steamapps\common\Remnants of Naezith\data\user\ folder. Then launch the game again.

Game has sounds but it's freezes

• Try pressing "Alt + Enter" which will change the window mode.

Game freezes or slows down heavily

• Some new analog keyboards like Wooting Two can cause this because they act like some kind of a gamepad. Try unplugging the keyboard. If it works, then try disabling the keyboard gamepad feature for the game.

Weird Stutter even with the FPS fairly high (microstutter/jitter)

• Set in-game FPS Cap same as your monitor's refresh rate.
  
• Playing in Fullscreen mostly fixes this.
  
• Test Vertical Sync on and off in-game. Also make sure it's not forced OFF in the driver settings.
  
• Turn off Threaded Optimization in Graphics Driver settings.
  
• Turn off Triple Buffering in Graphics Driver settings.
  
• Disable or remove the f.lux program if you have it.
  
• If you have multi-monitor setup, possible fix. Alternative fix: play in Fullscreen. Some GPUs like GTX770 stutters if a video or a program like Skype is running at the second monitor and the game is running in windowed mode.
  
• If it still stutters, try googling because it's probably an OpenGL issue, not related with the game code.

Stuck at Fetching User Data/Info or Game launches in Offline Mode even if the internet works fine

• Try disabling the Web Protection setting at your antivirus program. Malwarebytes is known to cause this issue.
  
• You might have blocked the game server by mistake on your end by mistake. (ron.naezith.com)
  
• Game server is hosted on Digital Ocean, please check the status page, our server is hosted in Frankfurt, there might be a maintenance https://status.digitalocean.com/
  
• Game server is secured by CloudFlare. This problem occurs only if your IP address is blacklisted by CloudFlare. Ask other people if they have the same issue, if everyone has the problem, then unfortunately the game server is down or in maintenance. If another person can play the game in that moment, then you should contact CloudFlare about whitelisting your IP. If you are blacklisted you also probably see CAPTCHA on internet websites. CloudFlare mostly bans the most grievous attackers, but they also can ban accidentally.

SFML Related

• These are the ones I can't solve personally, needs to be fixed by SFML developers.
  
• Borderless acts as Fullscreen if resolution is max[github.com]
  
• Mac: Having keyboard input issues[github.com]

Black screen & Window is out of focus, at launch

• This happened at Ubuntu 18.04. Just like it says, window does not get focus at launch, means game is not selected. You need to Alt-Tab to the game. We have no other solution yet, might be a SFML bug.

Can't jump while holding right and dash

• Some laptop keyboards -like 2019 Matebook 13- have a weird ghosting issue that it blocks all the other inputs when you hold Right + Shift, so your Space input is being ignored. Since it's an hardware issue, there is not a clean solution. What you can do is, change the Left and Right controls in-game to K & L keys or something, and play with those.

While a controller is plugged in, character randomly stops when I am moving left or right

• Game is polling input events for D-pad and Stick inputs simultaneously. Mostly people are having this issue when they are playing with D-pad or keyboard and their controller stick is sending random inputs near 0, which means the stick is released. However if you play with stick, these random inputs won't be noticeable. The best solution for this is to toggle on the Disable Gamepad Sticks option in Control Settings, so game will ignore them.

Why game doesn't support Windows 32 bit?

• This game is compiled with MinGW and Steamworks SDK's distributed .lib and .dll files are compiled with MSVC so it causes a crash at launch. However the steam_api64.dll is compatible so it works on 64 bit.

Loading levels takes too long

• When you start a level, game downloads replay of the leaderboard ghost you will race against. If server's response time is too high, it might be annoying to wait for it. You can simply disable Fetch Ghost in Gameplay Settings. Levels will open instantly after that.

Game runs at low FPS

• Disable Hook Path Indicator in Gameplay Settings.
  
• Make sure your resolution is not crazily high because of a retina display or graphics card's DSR setting.
  
• Texture Quality setting is about deciding the render texture size when your resolution height is not matching to in-game view height. High chooses the higher one, Low chooses the lower one. You can try having it low.
  
• Try turning off the other graphics settings one by one until you get good FPS.
  
• If you still have low performance, it should be something out of the game because it's a 2D game written very optimized using C++ and SFML.

Graphics are blurry or pixelated

• Set Texture Quality to High in Graphics settings.

Changed Control Settings in a way you can't reset

• Hold 'R O N' keys at the same time in Settings.
  
• Alternative: Remove steamapps\common\Remnants of Naezith\data\user\settings.cfg to reset all the settings including the Control Settings.

Tearing

• Turn on the Vertical Sync in-game. Also make sure it's not forced OFF in the driver settings.
  
• Make sure FPS cap is OFF or very high.
  
• Try to increase your FPS. Just because camera moves so fast in 2D, the tearing is very visible when FPS is low.

It takes 40 seconds for the game to open as a window.

• This issue is caused by Corsair keyboards like K55 or K70. Corsair iCUE program causes this.

Application load error Q:0000065432

• This error is often caused by an antivirus blocking a program on your computer. Exclude Remnants of Naezith and Steam in your antivirus program. FSecure, in particular, has been known to cause this error.

You can get in and out of play test mode with Enter button. There are more shortcuts described around the screen. I couldn't make it too user-friendly, sorry.

C++ runtime error?

I get the error whenever I try to start the game, I dont get an error code, It just says the application has requested the runtime to end it in an unusual way

If anyone has a fix for this it would be greatly appreciated

Yes, it's the same .dll file i have the problem with. Try reinstalling all VCredists, it may help on your part of the issue, despite not working for me

Hello! macOS Catalina removed the support for 32 bit versions. I am building 64 bit on Catalina, that's probably why. Really bad inconvenience. Is there something that prevents you from upgrading?

Hello! macOS Catalina removed the support for 32 bit versions. I am building 64 bit on Catalina, that's probably why. Really bad inconvenience. Is there something that prevents you from upgrading?

Many people can't update due to only Macs from 2012 and newer being supported. That's the problem I have, I guess it's the same for them, but only a guess. Some can't/don't want to update due to some apps and specific things not working because they haven't been updated yet or are just too old.

If there's anything at all I can do to help make this game run on more Macs and OS versions, I'd be happy to do so! Any info you want, I can test and try to figure out why it's not running.

Hi, can you run the Windows build using Proton? That would be the best solution since Linux build is also slightly older for now, lacking the latest features.

If you still want to run native Linux,

There is only one thing I know and it's already written above so you probably saw it:

Game does not launch on Linux

made me think it's being a font issue somehow. But fonts come with the game so I don't know what goes wrong.
