also that didn't seem to fix it
Not mentioning OS or controller model, old story.
Complaining about developers, old story.
If you want help try using less ♥♥♥♥♥♥ arguments.
Someone trying to troll but doesn't speak English...old story. Go back to your cave.
Troll in a cave? Suspicion always haunts the guilty mind.
I have a 3GC on Windows 10. Can you suggest a program to change that? I hear the ps4 and xbox controllers are best as far as typical compatability with gaming...but I'm open to whatever. I picked this one up because it was 75% off since the store was going out of business.
I don't know how to check if its direct input or xinput, but thanks for the info. You are at least helpful.
this one to be exact:

I like this one, it feels good (though lighter than a ps4 controller) and the buttons are generally responsive. Its wired, but thats not a big deal to me. It was cheap too.
20 bucks isn't that bad, but If that is out of your price range, a quick google search turned up:
http://www.pcgamer.com/how-to-use-old-directinput-controllers-in-new-xinput-games/
that article is a little old, not sure how good it will do, but if that one doesn't do it for you just google 'dinput to xinput' and you'll find a whole mess of solutions.

I'm not sure which it is. I did find that there were drivers for it since I have been using it just from whatever plug and play windows detected.
Budget and being wired isn't an issue. I'd like this controller to work, but if it won't, then I'd like to find something that works with everything. Its frustrating when things say "press A" and I have to hit all the buttons to figure out what "A" is.
