Steelseries controller not working?
I have a Steelseries controller that I use, and the game doesn't seem to detect it...or I don't know how to get it to work. Any ideas?

"third party" lol... steelseries is a pretty popular brand in computer controllers...mice...keyboards..headphones... Devs need to realize that PS4/Xbox isn't the only controllers out there.

XInput and DirectInput, old story.
Not mentioning OS or controller model, old story.
Complaining about developers, old story.

If you want help try using less ♥♥♥♥♥♥ arguments.

Someone trying to troll but doesn't speak English...old story. Go back to your cave.

Said the guy who obviously does not like to read. Given your explanation you could have connected your gamepad to a toaster.

Troll in a cave? Suspicion always haunts the guilty mind.

Steelseries controllers are mostly direct input. Don't know what model you have, but the older ones don't have any xinput which is standard for windows now adays. You'll either need a 3rd party program to convert from direct input to xinput, or a new controller (i recomend the logitec one. cheap but generally handy, and can switch between dinput and xipunt)

I have a 3GC on Windows 10. Can you suggest a program to change that? I hear the ps4 and xbox controllers are best as far as typical compatability with gaming...but I'm open to whatever. I picked this one up because it was 75% off since the store was going out of business.

I don't know how to check if its direct input or xinput, but thanks for the info. You are at least helpful.

if its older and out of date from a sale, and steel series, is dinput. I had one for a while till I started to run into problems. I just went and got a logitech

this one to be exact:

I like this one, it feels good (though lighter than a ps4 controller) and the buttons are generally responsive. Its wired, but thats not a big deal to me. It was cheap too.

20 bucks isn't that bad, but If that is out of your price range, a quick google search turned up:

http://www.pcgamer.com/how-to-use-old-directinput-controllers-in-new-xinput-games/

that article is a little old, not sure how good it will do, but if that one doesn't do it for you just google 'dinput to xinput' and you'll find a whole mess of solutions.

This is mine:

https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Dual-Vibration-Gaming-Controller/dp/B0036WTVNG

I'm not sure which it is. I did find that there were drivers for it since I have been using it just from whatever plug and play windows detected.

Budget and being wired isn't an issue. I'd like this controller to work, but if it won't, then I'd like to find something that works with everything. Its frustrating when things say "press A" and I have to hit all the buttons to figure out what "A" is.
