So yeah, playerstean12 is right. All we need is someone nice enough from Japan to share the movie file.
EDIT: I wanted to share the Japanese store link but it redirects to the version of your region when you click it.
So if we can get the staffroll_Reset.usm files, all we have to do is change the filename to our region's filename, and it will be played instead, no need for extracting/converting anything. That's the easiest and by far best solution, only we need someone from Japan to share the file...
Ps2 version has staffroll.s, in _data1.afs. I have no idea how to convert this to usm. prologue and playdemo is in .sf format though.
I tried dumping my physical ps3 copy, but haven't found a way. (I can't use multiman and I don't have any compatible bluray drives). This one is weird as the disc is actually just an installer, but the game won't work without the disc inserted.
I'm bummed out. Hopefully anyone from japan can share staffroll_reset.usm.....
About the resolution, I don't think it would be a problem as this version still uses the fmv credits from ps2 with borders. Kinda weird why the credits is not updated unlike the other fmvs in this game.
I'm in high hopes someone can get a copy of the file available in the Japanese build then. You can change your language on the game properties but I didn't do it because I don't know how this will affect my save data.
Actually the credits is the most disappointing thing in this port IMO. It makes me want to score it 9/10 just out of spite.
Frankly, the ps3 version also do this, even the demo and the prologue in title screen. The other ones like blooming the saplings are remade though.
The wii version is even worse in 16:9. The prologue and playdemo is stretched straight from ps2, and the sapling blooming fmv is just the ps2 one without borders. Though I can't blame ready at dawn as they have to make many assets from scratch.
Minor annoyance, yet wondered why they kinda left them out.
Now I looked again, and can't find this one, but I did find someone else who DOES have the ending, here's the link: click.
Seeing the song in the japanese release seems that capcom only lost their license to use reset for international audience. It looks like they lost it since the wii version as japanese wii has reset.
AFAIK, the japanese wii version was released later than the international ones. It has improved controls (no more waggle and nunchuk fleetfoot) and reset. However, it removes the ability to skip cutscenes in NG. That's what I heard.
It's a possility the Japanese also have their own discussion forums.
When I looked at the ♥♥♥ store page, there were some people reporting that they didn't get Reset in the credits and also that the logo was in English and not in Kanji, unlike how other Japanese players have it and it turned out that it was due to them buying the game through a site that sells keys instead of buying it directly from the Store page.
To keep it simple, the game has region locking and we can't get exactly the same content as the country the company chose to have it exclusively has it. Changing the language in the options won't do much help, since Capcom didn't want people outside of Japan to have Reset in the credits.
SteamDB confirms there's a version only available in Japan: https://steamdb.info/sub/194743/
Perhaps there is a trick to download files using the Steam API but I doubt Steam would so easily let such a loophole exist for long.
