Patch Release (RC 1.06.0503)
We're pleased to announce that patch 1.06.0503 is now live!

Patch notes:
• Fixed an issue where a controller didn’t always get detected
• Increased the amount of storage size a user could access for the replay data.
• Fixed an issue where the check for compatible shaders was not performed when the game starts.

Thank you for supporting Sonic Mania!

Exciting to see it's being made available before the weekend!

Great to see the oft-reported shader issue is addressed too.

I'll make sure to play through the game again and look for the known (past and present) bugs to see if they're present.

I'll make it short. I checked it, and confirmed it.

This update removes Denuvo Anti Tamper from Sonic Mania.

No guarantees it's 100% gone but it seems like it.

Still not digitally signed, and causing false positives on VirusTotal.
The executable size has certainly shrunk dramatically, from 118 MB to 3 MB.

Making quick checks in my lunch hour out of excitement (this is the first update I'm a part of). It seems like a first startup after starting the PC is much faster now - 44 seconds down to 16. That could be related to the shader check improvement. Either way, nice work!

I think I will loop it on my AMD laptop, which has had issues.
Another thing to check is to try cycling display modes in the settings and see if that still crashes.

If true and if it will be same with further non-beta updates, I'm interested in Sonic Mania again. But never at 100% price. See you in bundles or on a sale.

Denuvo made me not buy Sonic Mania until this point. Take notes, Denuvo. Take notes, Sega.
All lag points in the menus seem to be gone now. (No lag in the save select menu and moving to the bottom of Time Attack's stage select doesn't half the framerate anymore.)
However, you can still press Y to cheat special stages.
I'm glad that SEGA's continuing to abandon Denuvo, especially retroactively. It took too long, but at least it's finally happened.

For those wondering, this patch sadly doesn't fix any palette issues or the Special Stage "W key" trick.

I never personally saw any lag points in the menus.
I did loop the intro screen of the game on my laptop for a while and the graphics seemed to work fine.

What are the palette issues?

Just tested, still has "busy idle" CPU usage issues, and yes I can confirm the Y button exploit is still there, even in Mania Mode.
This is perfect! Thanks for removing Denuvo!

This looks really promising

I had preordered this game but refunded it after Denuvo was found (you guys hadn't disclosed it at launch). So yeah, I'm looking forward to the next time this game goes on sale. Thanks, Sega!
